Hi, recently turned 80 and i dont really have a clue about hit-capping and want to put this right and get on the right path. Can someone try and explain to me as simply as possible what this hit stuff is all about and maybe how to go about sorting my gnome mage Yocki out?

add an http:// infront of your link and it will turn into a hyper link. the hitcaps for the various specs are listed under their spec post in the sticky at the top (TGMPE). Hit cap means you will not be fully resisted or miss on a target when casting on them. It is a good idea to be as close to it as possible (17% total, after talents/buffs/debuffs/etc), but I wouldn't ever gem for hit, just get it from gear.
