Mages: what works with power infusion?Follow

I just found power auras, and I want to know what abilities would go well with priest power infusion? FYI, power infusion is a 15sec buff that increases casting speed by 20%, and reduces spell cost by 20%.

PI cannot be cast on you when you are under the effects of Arcane Blast. Your priest can also use Powerauras to check you for the debuff. As Anobix pointed out, the haste does not stack with Heroism/Bloodlust (although the mana efficiency will apply). Work with your priest on setting up the timing to coincide with burst opportunities or extending your Bloodlust/Heroism. If the RL is calling out for BL at 30%, for instance, have him set up for PI @ 35%. With a 1.6 minute cd, your disc priest can probably get 2-3 off on you during a boss fight.

Now that you mention it, I might be confusing the two. I think Arcane Blast used to show up as a debuff that I always wanted to dispel before they fixed its nature in a patch. It would make more sense if the conflict was with Arcane Power, it's cd is about the same as PI. I will have to get with my mage and test it out.

We work it in the following way:
I have a macro that whispers him when I cast it on him. The macro checks for range on the target and the availability of the spell (if it is off cd). He will get the whisper if I attempt to cast it while he is in range and PI is off cd. Occasionally I will get an error and the spell will not cast. He still gets the whisper, so he knows I am trying to cast it on him. I will try to cast it again about 10 seconds later and it is successful.

Maybe it is icy veins then that it doesn't stack with?

Arcane Power and Power Infusion used to stack back in the day.

When raiding BWL I'd pop AP and have a priest PI me after I popped both trinkets (When ZHC and ToEP stacked).

When fighting the dragonkin with extreme vulnerability to certain elements, I could crit some of them with a pyro for 20k or so. Now 20k may not sound like a lot now, but this was when 60 was the cap and +500 spell damage meant you were raider elite god mode mage.

Of course the stacking of trinkets and PI/AP was nerfed almost immediately, but man was it fun when you could do it.

The same priest and I used to BG a lot together, we'd be on vent and hunt flag carriers in WSG, talk about one shotting someone, man we had so much fun with that.
