So yeah, was planning to level my shaman Melee style. Bought her a Champions Herod Shoulder and was collecting Emblems for the Sword as well. Then I was told that shamans cant use swords. I asked a melee shaman I know if the BoA dagger was any good, he told me not to use them as fast weapons are useless.

So I ask you, are the BoA daggers any good for a melee shaman? Or should I just bite the bullet, give the shoulders to my hunter and level the shaman as Ele?

i dont know if slower or faster is better but at lvl 40 the tool tip shows the 1 hand caster mace and the dagger with the same dps of 30. if your going to go elemental keep the shoulders untill you get the other ones at least for the exp bonus. personaly i like elemental better than the 1-2 days i tryed enhancement. able to kill stuff from a distance no mana problem and no healing problem cept the warrior trolls in stv but i learned searing totem and healing totem on them.

You could always just go with quest rewards as you level, or pick up some blue boes every few levels. BoA weapons aren't the only option, and it's the shoulders that give the Exp bonus anyway.

I know the quest rewards are an option, but I liked the idea of putting some nice enchants on them, I suppose I will get the daggers, even if they arent optimal, they will still be better than a green quest reward.

Another option would be picking up both trinkets--good trinkets are hard to find at lower levels and will really make a difference for any toon you use them on. Up to you, though. /shrug
