Warlocks in PvPFollow

Folks;

I recently wanted to get back into some PvP... I went destro for shadowfury and chaos bolt. That worked better than deep affliction (my dots didn't seem to dent warriors with 25K health and 6billlion resillience). But still, I was doing some AB and I must have died 50 times in 30 minutes... it was a nightmare. Do warlocks really suck this bad after the 3.1 patch? Seems with our low armor that everything can destroy us easily. I have been grinding the BGs to get PvP gear (I do only have 50 resil. now, but Seriously, will resil keep me alive for longer than 2 additional seconds?). I am just wondering if I level my pally and pvp with him instead or gut it out and die a million times on my way to getting gear....

I tried to look your armory, seems there are 2 human locks with same name, guess yours is one with destro build ?

That build is not good.Destro pvp is something like this.Depends if you want imp succy for better seduce.

You also need gear, with your sp,resi and hp any better gear class can kill you with no problem.
Once you get resi and more sp things will get better, but still locks have it very hard vs any melee class.

edit: Don't use imp in PvP,either succy if you want so seduce > nuke or felhunter - silence and devour magic.I prefer felhunter but succy can work very well also.
But never imp =)

Thanks for the input on the build. I am the one on Vek, so that is me. I also appreciate the honesty about it being difficult for warlocks in pvp. Once upon a time, warlocks were pretty good, but now it seems that people stay feared for under a second and half the classes are immune to fear (gee, that's fun), which leaves locks with few outs. Oh, I use the succy to seduce the rogues who ambush me, so they don't kill me within 2 seconds. That means it usually takes them 3 seconds. ;-)

The trick for me is to drop demonic circle all the time, whenever u think a fight is possible drop it and move away. If your human you have the racial to get out of stuns, if not make the trinket your first purchase. Yes resi. will help u loads once u reach around 700. And with that much resi. ure bound to get up to about 19k HP this is enough to survive a feral druid or rogue initial burst.

If your not starting arena just yet then i would personally use fel hunter as it helps a lot with some classes.

Trick for mele is kiting with demonic circle. You have death coil and shadow fury and the 'daze' effect from confrag to help kite and keep them away from you and you would be amazed how many times other players will spin around in a "where the **** did they just go" kind of manner after u use demonic teleport, this is when to use chose bolt, immolate conflag and just keep the dps going.

If your just pvping i would make one spec deep demonology like this http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#IZbG0hkAdiIRgzhoVc:NLj you have 12 points left to play with but thats the basics imo for a decent demo build. Also you can change the glyphs thats just personal preference. But with a fel guard out your looking at 36% damage reduction, add in demon armor and some decent pvp gear u can take quite the beating. Good little trick for this build is to have rank 1 shadow bolt (about a 1s cast) keybound to something, so when a target gets below 35% u use that to set off decimation allowing a 2s soul fire depending on ure haste.

For desto http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#IcZbG0hkhbZVf0qrIuAsmcoz:zLj again change glyphs if u want more burst or wateva thats just me.

Again this won't be perfect or all that helpful but i remember when i started pvping with a lock i hated it in wotlk but after a while it gets so much better, with some gear and understanding of what to expect from other classes you will begin to kill certain classes very easily.

Warlocks are not bad really. It has just come to the time where locks need to have skill to be more successful, like how a frost mage always was. Obviously you are going to get critted very often, and get 'raped' by uber hits you say you die from in '2 seconds', yes you will die fast with 50 resi you cant do anything about it, build up on resi first it will not last you 2 seconds extra. Just to add, I highly doubt there is any class that can be ownage with 50 resi. All classes have counters, there are none that dont. I've seen a 2v2 team with a lock (don't know the other class) that thrashes 2000+ rated op DK+Paladin combos. You cant be always good in pvp, there will always be some sort of change giving the other class an advantage, that will seem unbalanced or unfair to you.

By the way, check this awesome Demo lock vid, it made we wunna go demo:

Resilience generally helps a lot, but if you read the description carefully, it's not the end all of PVP stats. I just got into the 700s, and it is noticeable to a point.
My team partner was always dying before I did, and a few times I finished the fight. When I made the suggestion that he go with the classic SL/SL spec, our team made a drastic improvement.
Personally, I couldnt PVP as Destruction, since I see PVP as an endurance game and not about DPS. I get 25% mitigation with Soul Link, and another 5-10% with whatever pet I use, which is almost always a felguard when I know I have to fight close-quarters.
Get at least 20,000 health and 600-700 resilience, and you should notice a difference-- people with that much health or more seem to be the more formidable opponents. I cant really say if what you have is good, since I dont go that deep into Destruction to know.

Speaking from a ret/priest point of view locks are insane in arena at the moment :P
With 800 resilience and 23k hp I was hit for 8k Conflag crit and that was followed by a 5k non-crit SF. Just get some gear and you will be fine. Rogues will still eat you for breakfast and a lot of warriors too but you should be fine against all other classes and you can faceroll mages still :P

Am I the only one that never felt warriors were of any particular nuisance?
