We all have our WIP alts I guess. This week started with me having 6 alts in the 10-60 range.

I wasn't really in the mood to start leveling another alt, specially since I'm still trying to get some real shoulders on my shammy. But a guildie friend of mine asked me last week wether I had any alts and telling me how it would be fun to level something together and all that ... I told him, sure, roll whatever, I have 2 toons at around lvl 20. We'll rip through levels together ....

Then monday he tells me .. pst, my lock alt is now lvl 21. What are we going to level together?

I really thought I was going to chose my priest. Hell, I still want it to be my priest since I know I won't level it on it's own ... But I'm leveling my druid XD, and he's gone up 5 levels in 2 days.

Oh brother, here we go again. Before I know, he'll have overtaken both my hunter and my dk (at lvl 60 both). And then I'll just have to get him to 80 I guess.

Anyhow ... Can you really level boomkin (From lvl 35+?) or is that just plain stupid? I'll get dual specc on him ASAP, probably feral dps / boomkin, I reckon I should still be able to heal. Or so I hope.

You can but Azeroth gear sucks for casters compared to Outland.

If you are having fun then you should level Boomkin.

Its more about what will keep you coming back.

Feral is faster but that is more in a solo power leveling context.

You can level balance from 1-80.

Mind you 1-58 will take you longer than it will feral but its really doable.

I personally think leveling balance from 1-80 will really teach you a lot about how a balance druid handles things and when you should do certain things.

Plus it helps you learn how to aoe grind, which is retarded easy as a balance druid.

balance works from 1-80, but i wouldnt recommend it until at least level 40. the addition of boomchicken form makes a huge difference.

getting the +crit legacy gear (the more the better) helps loads too, even if it means using the "rogue/feral" leather shoulders instead of the caster ones. getting mana back on crits more often is usually going to help more than higher spellpower.

Ok thanks for those replies. I'm going to stay feral until 40 or so, then I'll see how this boomkin stuff works. Though at the moment, the truth is mobs do go down pretty quickly as feral.

I changed to Balance at level 30. wasn't too keen on it at first but by level 35 I had a few bits of spell damage gear and the bonus from my intellect and started enjoying it. Really started enjoying it after I got boomkin at 40 (no matter how daft they look). Now I am level 47 and wishing I had leveled him years ago. 216 spell damage in boomkin for means I'm getting 1.4k+ crits with my starfire which seems pretty good to me for that level. Also once you get barkskin at 44 you can solo AoE mobs, chuck insect swarm on each of them pop barkskin and drop hurricane, job done.

I did Boomkin 1-80. It's really doable, if you really like that aspect of the druid class. If you don't like it, it will always feel slower and more painful than feral.

Man, I suck at playing the "gold" game.

I was going to get my druid dual specc at 40, which I'm still a few levels off, then I realized I have a mamooth 2000g on my bank toon. Since I've decided to take non-gold making proffs (skinning and leatherworking) I'm probably better off just holding on to my gold. I'm sure, come lvl 77, I'll be happy I did ...

So anyways, hanging on to cat for the time being ...

Having a good time leveling druid. Currently almost level 52.

I've been feral all the way so far, and I'm finding it a bit more "hectic" than my prior toons, hunter, shammy and paladin. I'm still a bit out of shorts for a decent rotation for mobs beyond the first 4-5 moves. Pounce, mangle, faerie fire, rip, rake ... but still going strong.

Outlands this weekend probably, and then things will slow down a tad I expect. And at level 78 I will change to balance. I'm too stingy to change before that ...

This druid thing is fun, and thanks to another friend, my mage bank alt has become a very slowly leveling toon, so my poor level 19 priest is now my bankie ...

Leveled 1-80 and loved every minute of it. If it was longer than Feral I didn't notice.

ANYTHING can be done if you really enjoy it. I leveled 1-55 as resto. I had three sets of gear on me. One for healing. One for nuking. One for feral. I finally just went feral because i was finding myself using it more and more. I'm now dual specced feral dps/resto.

It was also said leveling elemental was a bad idea on my shaman. I leveled 1 to currently 74 as elemental with only one level as enhancement for pvp. Then again this was after water shield was introduced at lower levels. But i found it no less efficient than enhancement. If you like it...do it.

AYE LGarth my friend, you have it all wrong! You never use Rip before Rake, that's a waste of a combo point!

My current rotation

Pounce, Rake, Claw(I dont have mangle yet), Rip or even FB since most mobs are below 50 by then.

You want to have at least 2-3 combo points on Rip before you use it. Otherwise its just a weaker rake.

Also, herbalism Lifeblood has made soloing, insanely easier. The Healing based Feral Talet (Natures something I cant recall) Also benefits from this, so I get an instant 115 Hps 5 sec without shifting.

Works wonders for PVP.

Anyway my two cents.

I'd add get the glyph of Rake for leveling. That way mobs don't run off and come back... with friends.

Yay! Half a level away from Outlands. It's been fun so far. Going to post a sub four days time to 60 (I expect 3 days, 22 hours) which, for a toon with cooking and LW almost at 300 I view as a good time, though I'm sure many out there could do it faster. I've found levels 50-57 incredibly painless as a druid, haven't even had to heal myself much since mobs usually die faster than with any other toon I've leveled to date.

I really, really hope they bring new skins to moonkins too, as it's the specc I want to game in when I hit 80.

Summer's approaching, so this is my last toon to level for a good while XD
