Ok Pve pros, need some advice.

Our guild has been doing pretty well in Ulduar. We're working our way around the circle, yet to beat Mims, Hodir, and the subject of this post Thorim.

I was on a 10 man run over the weekend where we got Thorim down. I arena healed as PvE Holy maximizing raid heal abilities. http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Kul+Tiras&n=Dalilamma It wasn't bad, hectic but manageable. So 25 man comes along, and we just can't keep up. Between the intermittent cast time increases, hammer damage and raid dmg...it's too much. We ran w/ 2 healers in the guantlet, and 5 on the floor...3 priests, 1 druid and a pally.

I can't seem to get Serendipity up...ever...and end up relying on all my instant casts. Even though I have improved/empowered renew, it doesn't proc enough free flash heals to be a good filler in between CoHs. I cast bubble whenever it's up, even though Holy bubbles suck. PoM goes whenever it's up as well. All that and we still fall behind.

We are using the bunch in the center and don't move strategy. We tried splitting it into two tight groups which seemed to help 'some' but obviously not enough. Our dps is normally hot, but maybe more dps on the floor? The adds do seem to multiply over time, but tbh I can barely watch what's going on around me while I heal. :)

Thanks in advance.

Do you group up or spread out to avoid hammer AOE damage? I'm not sure how bad the hammer is in 25, but that's how we do it on 10-man; we eat the hammer's AOE and I just stand there spamming PoH and Holy Nova.

We are staying in the middle and trying to heal through the AoE dmg. I watched a youtube Thorim video earlier that had all the tanks/dps in the middle but the healers hovered on the outside of the circle.

This is interesting, because while I can see it helping the healers keep from taking unnecessary aoe dmg, I'm concerned about pulling aggro on new adds. One of the other priests was having aggro problems with the way it was last night.

Well for starters, I need to l2read seeing as you answered my question before I even asked it.

Anyway, reading through your post again the only option I think you might have is to play the fight the way that (I think) you're supposed to. As in, go to one side of the arena and move to the other when a lightning orb near your side activates. Also, make sure your tanks are picking up all the adds quickly enough; seeing as you've got 7 healers and we've been running 25-mans with 5 so far (granted, we didn't get too far in 25-man yet) healing really shouldn't be a problem. If it is, the incoming damage is probably where your problem lies.

The main trick to beating that arena section is your dps. Getting the big adds down fast is key so having your melee focus on one at a time certainly helps. We also usually have one or two ranged dps stay in that section to aoe the small ones down, hunters and shadowpriests are good for this due to their threat dumps. When we first tried doing that fight we were stacking healers on the arena and trying to outheal it. In reality the focus of your dps and dispelling the shields and renews from the healing adds is a lot more key from what we found.

I am normally in the hallway team, so I don't see it firsthand, but I know there is one mob that gets focused down by the ranged on the arena team, I think it is the Champion? It has a WW that knocks the stuffing out of melee.

Really, I have seen this fight done so many different ways, some more effective than others. As long as the arena is on the same page, it seems that there is no real "right way" to do it.

I have even seen Shadow priests MC the one that gives a raid wide haste buff... this may not be routine, though.
