So I've been searching all morning, and can't find the answer anywhere.

I'm using the Valiance Longbow, two one-handed weapons and a Quickdraw Quiver- but my quiver won't display on my back anymore.

What exactly are the criteria for it to show up? I thought it was a bow and one handed weapons, but that isn't doing it for me.

Thanks!

we had a thread about this a while back. I don't think anyone really figured it out. I don't even notice it. Are your weapons on your back or at your side, that might make a difference.

Hmm... It's been a long time since I've used a bow (/cry), but I could have sworn that my quiver only displayed when I had my bow visibly in my hand. I forget what the default button is to get your weapon out, but I'm hitting Z to toggle it.

(sorry if this is a double post)

The weapons are at my side, and my quiver isn't displaying whether the bow is in my hand, I'm shooting it, or any other combination.

Of course, I got a new gun now so the point is semi-moot, but I really would like the quiver look for when I'm just standing around.

It wont ever display when you are just standing around. It only ever displayed (at least to my knowledge) when I was actively firing my bow. It would remain visible after combat, but if I did anything (loot, talk to NPC etc) it would disappear again.

As I said, it isn't displaying when I'm shooting.

I've been wondering about this myself and I think the answer is that the quiver being displayed is determined by the specific weapon being used and not just the type. Just to confirm my suspicions I made a new hunter and mailed the starter bow to my main. Sure enough I was able to see my Nerubian Reinforced Quiver for the first time.

Off topic, but a lvl 76 mob goes down surprisingly fast even with a lvl 1 bow and my pet still couldn't hold aggro.

I remember seeing my quiver all of the time in vanilla wow, less so in TBC and not at all so far in WotLK. It's a shame too since I used to love that there was actually an animation of reaching into the quiver to reload in between shots. Oh well, quivers are going to be obsolete soon so it doesn't really matter anymore.

I've never actually thought about my quiver not showing up before, but now that you mention it. I don't believe I have ever seen my quiver on my back or anywhere before. I'll have to look at that later.

Running around SW earlier I noticed my quiver on my back. It was good.

I had not been in combat for over 15 minutes, did not had my bow in hand and my staff was also on my back.

I then remembered this thread.

So I run outside and start shooting stuff, the quiver remains. It was good.

Throughout the time my hunter was logged on his quiver remained on his back for all to see. It was good.

I haven't seen my quiver for ages--now that I've gotten rid of mine, it's showing up any time I use my bow. 0.o Or it was--I haven't tried it since actually vendoring the thing, just since I unequipped it.

I picked up a cheap quiver off the AH today--just having it in my bags, it's showing up for me. This is fun and awesome, and now I'm tempted to try and find out what they all look like. (I must say though, I do quite like the look of this one.)

I just checked wowhead for their list of quivers. They have screenshots on just about all of them. I'm a little upset that we don't need them anymore. The Nerubian reinforced quiver is pretty awesome-looking.

Why couldn't we have gotten a solution that kept the quivers, but gave us our bags? It would have been so cool to have an extra slot connected to the ranged weapon on the character panel that housed our quiver! :P

I can see being upset about not being able to see quivers, if that was the case, but I'm not sure why you'd miss the mechanic? We only have to give up 2-3 spaces in a bag now, which is not too bad given that very large bags are readily available.

They ought to just model the quivers to match the weapon itself, since it wasn't uncommon for high-quality such items to be sold and stored together; oftentimes the bow would even tuck into the quiver to shelter it from the elements.

Smiley: nod That would be neat, on the other hand being able to mix and match is pretty cool too (esp for those who have that epic quiver).

I'm not upset with the mechanics they gave us. I was thrilled when got to pull one of my bags out of the bank to actually use. I just think it would have been cool to make the quiver its own separate thing, like a keyring. That way, it would automatically organize the ammo for us. The implemented solution is still better than what we've been dealing with for all these years, though.

Ah, okay--I guess I just misunderstood you. That would definitely have been neat. :)

hmm....i couldn't care less if i cant see mine, but that's probably me.

seeing as how your melee weapons sheath themselves when you go into archer mode, and you see them on your body, i doubt you'd be able to see your quiver if you have a melee weapon strapped to your back.

Also, i'm staying with my 28 slot quiver so i dont have to buy more arrows every few minutes. 28,000 arrows on me at all times pwns another bag.

0.o

I didn't even think of that. I haven't spec'd quivers after glimpsing over a thread stating they're fairly worthless due to arrows stacking in bags and no haste. Is 28 slots the largest quiver? And, would you recommend that to all level including lowbie like me with our 8 slot quiver? I *think* at my station at lvl 18 the bag space is more valuable--hence no quiver--at least, so it seems right now considering the vast amounts of murloc eyes, okra, hops, and various other bits of vendor trash I'm selling off.

Any thoughts?

I don't think you need it at low lvls. First off even with an 8 slot bag that's 8000 arrows which is a lot to carry around. Second, I switched from gun to bow more than a few times while I was lvling up. It might be best to just stick with a regular bag for now.

Considering the length of time it would take you to use that many arrows, you'll be going to town to sell greys way way way before that happens. You're better off using 10 slots for arrows and have more bag space imo.
