Trinket choicesFollow

Ok, so I got my Darkmoon Card: Greatness today, and I'm having trouble deciding which of my other trinkets to keep.

My other trinkets are Valonforth's Remembrance and Cannoneer's Morale

I like the idea of more increase in spirit, but if the first shares it's cooldown with the darkmoon card, then it's useless to me. I've tried to test it a little, and the two procs don't seem to be willing to coincide.

If anyone knows for sure, I'd appreciate your help.

Resto or balance?

Do you have badges?

What content can we tell you to do and expect you to be able to do it?

Armory link?

I was just asking for a trinket comparison, but sure, here's my info :P

Resto druid

I have 37 emblems of heroism that I was saving for the tier 7 gloves.

I have healed the spider wing of nax(10 man) and part of the other three, and will be doing more this coming weekend, besides that I run heroics sometimes.

I'm a scribe and am leveling enchanting now.

I suppose if people have general critiques of my character I'm open to them as well, but I'm mainly interested in knowing if the two spirit proc trinkets will work with or against each other.

Well if you were a Boomkin I would have said get the Sundial first.

As you are resto I would say Egg of Mortal Essence .

Or grab the spirit one from H DtK. Otherwise I don't know.

Honestly, buying the gloves is meh. They might drop. Get a trinket, better investment.

Trinkets drop less than tier pieces.

While that doesn't help address the question I asked, it is good advice, and I do intend on getting the DtK trinket as soon as I can.

I'm spending the emblems on the gloves because I tend to have bad luck with drops, and I don't raid enough to rely on that for upgrades at the moment.

Spirit > Spell Power > mp5.

Don't worry about those trinkets. Get the egg right away that boost of 98 spell power will be vastly better than whatever mp5 you're getting. I'm assuming you've got the spirit greatness card, that would suit you better.

No it doesn't answer your question, Horsemouth's answer removes the need to answer your question, isn't that great? ;)

They are green... Burn them, BURN THEM!

Until you replace them with the Egg, I'd say keep the blue one, just for the color :p

well, I was mainly asking which I should use UNTIL I replace them, which seems to be a reasonable question to me. I was already aware of the upgrades.

I do have a follow up question though - Why is the egg better than the talisman of troll divinity for a tree? The spell power is nice, but it seems to me that the spirit and stacking heals would be better. The haste doesn't seem all that worthwhile.

Since people seem to like the egg, I guess I'm asking for someone to tell my why I'm wrong :P

Edit: I got the int card because the general consensus that I found on EJ and other forums was that the Int card was better for tree druids provided the tree had more spirit than int with the trinket.

That's probably the right move for the way mana regen works being based on both Int and Spirit.

If you still have more Spirit than Int while having the Int greatness trinket, then you're still proccing a +300spirit effect but you've gained a sizeable static and unchanging mana pool and probably better overall mana regen for not being too focused on spirit by going with a +90spirit trinket that procs another 300 spirit. There's some sort of synergy between the two stats that I guess makes it beneficial to have both stats as opposed to being too focused on one stat.

I have a healing set that includes the agility greatness card that I carry on me all the time. Bear in mind my healing set is only ever expected to be used while being feral specced (as in I have basically zero intention of speccing resto, I just like the gear set to offer me a bit more versatility). So the agility greatness card is really worth close to +70 to healing with nurturing instinct talent I think it is called. And it allows me to save one inventory spot on a trinket I'd otherwise always have anyway. The bad part for me is that I proc +300 Int in that gear so I have this variable sized mana pool that goes from like 19k'ish to 25k'ish or somewhere around abouts and then when the proc is gone so is the extra mana pool. The neat part is the card seems to proc on hot ticks and I get like +100 mana regen off of that 300Int proc while not casting and about 2.25% spell crit.

As long as you're not proccing 300Int like I am (boo @ 5k variance in a mana pool because of a proc), you should be quite pleased with the card.

I am procing spirit and unless told that it's a bad idea, I'm going to get the trinket from dtk for another 70 spirit.

I've been using the Egg and Majestic Dragon Figurine.

With us Druids, since you figure to spend 3 lifeblooms starting out the tank, a rejuv and prolly a regrowth, then you fall into the refresh/top-off mode, it's pretty simple to get this trinket maxed and since we will always cast another spell while in combat before the 10 seconds is up, it just refreshes the stack.

180 Spirit pretty much constantly in combat is a nice boost. Plus you get the added benefit that spirit has to your heals, which ends up being 27 spellpower once it's at a full stack. It does drop off Sartharion, which may or not be in your range of raiding.(You said you don't raid much)

However, Sarth with no drakes up is a pretty simple fight to pug on most servers at this point, although still requiring a decent amount of coordination to ensure people don't get hit with fire walls.

As to why the Egg is better than the DtK trinket. The 73 Spirit is nice, if you are having problems with mana regen, but if not, the static 98 spellpower from the Egg, as well as the Haste buff, which is up rather frequently, ends up having a greater overall effect during boss fights than a 20 second on use trinket.

HOWEVER, since you don't raid as much and mostly do heroics, the DtK trinket may be better individually for you.

As far as what to use till you get an upgrade, I'd say Cannoneer's Morale as testing on Valonforth's Rememberance has shown that it hasn't been proc'ing on Instant cast Druid spells since 3.0.8. Would love to hear if you're getting it to proc off a lifebloom or a rejuv. IMO the Cannoneer's static Mp5 + on use SP boost is nicer anyway. Sometimes just having a bigger heal saves you from casting another heal which is like having regen without needing to regen :P

Well, I have over 300 mp5 while casting at the moment, and I owe horsemouth an apology since I got my valorous dreamwalker's handguards in 25 man vault today, so I think I'll go for the egg.

thanks for the help all.
