Hello guys,
I have a warlock currently level 62.
I need to level it up; to compromise the profession that go with my Main. Enchanting
So i started to play my warlock again it stayed a nice class and still enjoying it.
I have choosen for Affliction this is my current build (sorry for the wrong site):

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warlock/talents.html?tal=015002223122301105351200135100400000000000000000000000055000015000000000000000000

There said thats what im heading towards.
But still dealing with the sub-tree's. I think Ruin is awesome. But i dont have any raiding experience.
So whats the standard affliction talent build that most of you guys are using.
Please share and post it.

Thanks in regard

AFAIK, this is probably the best Affliction raiding spec available at the moment. There's 3 kind of "filler" points floating around, you can probably stick those in Fel Concentration and be okay. I've yet to raid on my Lock as he's a fresh 80 and isn't close to the hit cap, so I'd wait to hear advice from jenova or one of the other more experienced Lock players on these forums.

Hey guys,
I have seen your builds and compared there similair.
However i still have a couple of questions for you both.

1 @ Wchigo: You intend to use imp but wont he OOM fast or is this changed?
2 @ shoarmakip: Wich pet you think to stick on just imp or depending on the dungeon?

I think you guys are saying Life tap all the way. Why no Darkpact anymore?
And there some talents wich i see as arguable:

Improved curse of agony? is the 10% finally worth it?
Eradication seems a one point talent to me.
Deaths embrace would be linked to life tap so you can drain easily up. But more damage when your target is under 35%? maybe for bosses
Same goes for shadow embrace other then 5% dmg i dont see much use in it. but i could be wrong

My biggest concern is just why Darkpact is left out.

I hope someone will bring up the cookiecutter standard if there is one in Affliction.
Im considering Destruction is teh raid-tree for highest DPS now.

Bye

Pets by dps ; Infernal -> Doomguard -> Succubus/Fel Hunter > Imp

The usual choice is the fel hunter. It deals ok damage itself and serves as a "mana battery" for DP (if you use it).I also adds a spirit and intellect buff to the raid group if you don't have priest/mage in raid/group. Has very high magic resistances supporting its survivability.

Life tap gives more mana than Dark Pact. And it scales with spirit, giving more mana.

As for eradiction, you could put points in imp.Fel Hunter if you use it as mana battery,if you don't use DP I don't see where else to put.
But you are right, problem about this talent is the diminishing return. The first talent point gives more than 3% effective haste, the second one gives 1% haste while the last one gives only 0.5%. So 1 point is highly recommendable, 2 are still good, 3 might be a waste if there is a more promising talent left.

Shadow Embrace 2x5%= 10% more dot dmg ,so remember to keep 2 stacks of it all the time (shadowbolt and haunt proc it).

Death Embrace is +12% damage for one third of the fight (35 %), about 4% overall damage for three talent points.

As for CoA ,if you are not on duty to cast other curse ,this talent is good.

What part of "Affliction" did you miss - or did I miss a memo saying that doomguards are available to all builds?

Your thinking fel guard. The doom guard is available to all specs, though as far as I know it does more DPS the the infernal.

From a raiding stand point

Life tap - because it gives more mana than darkpact. Less time you spend regaining mana, more time for you to dps (or your haunt and siphon life is probably going to waste anyway). Plus, you get life tap spirit bonus from T7 gear which in turn, ups your spellpower.

"Same goes for shadow embrace other then 5% dmg i dont see much use in it. but i could be wrong "

You are DPS, if you don't take dps talents, then I don't know what to say.

We are talking about affliction spec,so there is no Felguard.

As for doomguard vs infernal, you can have infernal for 60sec so it's best to use 60sec before boss dies =).And,yes,it does more damage than doomguard.

Both of these pets can, properly used, increase your damage quite a bit. There is NO drawback. There are many encounters now where the Doomguard makes quite a difference (adds of Noth in Naxxramas) and perfect timing of the Infernal has to be learnt but will definitely increase your dps.

edit: past of learn is learnt ,not learned ,doh .P
