New rolled Rogue QuestionFollow

I'm rerolling a new Human Rogue and am wondering something. I plan on being a Combat/Swords Spec evetually and am wondering if I should initially spec for daggers in combat then at a later level respec to Swords when I have the talent points and prob. have some decent swords or just start from the begining as swords but keep daggers up to level? Also if the repec is indicated at what level I should do the Respec.

Oops forgot to ask, I cant seem to find the thread on rotations anymore. Anyone able to help?

The 'best' way to go is generally swords until you can go mutilate, if you want to level fast. For a mutilate spec you won't need a rotation since you will kill everything in the cheap shot timer. For combat I believe it was something like Blade Furry at 3+ enemies else SS 'till you can KS. You might want to wait for an answer from a proper combat rogue on that though.

I'm not tied to Combat spec, but since I'm bringing up a Feral/Cat Druid I was thinking it would be less trouble in switching between the two and keeping the proper attack frame of mind going.

There really isn't a set rotation for leveling. When you get Cheap Shot/Kidney Shot you want to use those for less down time eating. If you don't get the mob killed before kidney shot wears off then put up Slice and Dice.

As Moz mentioned save Blade Flurry for when you have a multiple mob pull. Also, don't count on killing stuff in your cheap shot. that is a rare event when your leveling with greens and blues on.

Don't worry too much about leveling your daggers as you go. It doesn't take that long to level weapon skills. As a human I would just run out of SW and attack hogger, without using any abilities, until he is dead.

Did someone say sticky?

And of course there's a "rotation" for leveling: Cheap Shot - Combo Point Builder - ... - Profit. Toss in a Kidney Shot if you need it but basically that's the plan regardless of spec. Keep 'em stunned, use your primary Point builder and a finisher, loot.

Remember that leveling builds are not the same as end game builds. Behold: Your first 25 points!

Until level cap your primary concern is not sustained DPS as much as kill efficiency (i.e. XP/hour). Don't get distracted by your deeps =)

Good luck.

I have read the sticky's but am still going through Theo's 24 pager. Think I'm to page 11 or 12.
I wasn't thinking endurance would be that needed tho, I was leaning more to increasing dodge or parry or even Imp SnD? I was thinking endurance as not being all that nec at lower levels except for the 4% Stam buff.

Endurance is there for the cooldown reduction, not the stam buff.

When leveling it's vital to stun-lock your prey, so there's very little need to dodge or parry anything.

Although I've often advocated the coolness of Reposte (which I often used in my leveling builds) in the past, I'm starting to think it's less a value for the points. Mobs have been nerfed pretty well and our abilities have been changed enough to make it an ify investment.

Imp SnD is a raiding talent, period.

Good luck!
