Ultimate 19 Twink Priest?Follow

#1 Mar 07 2009 at 7:17 AM Rating: Decent
Hey guys, I want to twink out my Priest by the time I get it to 19.

Question Is... Whats the best sets of gear for me? And also, where can I find them (Quest/Buy/Instance)?

I wouldn't mind a few suggestions, I don't care if its the ABSOLUTE best... I'd just like to go as good as I can :)
Cheers.

The best Twinks are the ones who travel to the opposite faction's Battlemasters so they can be violated horribly instead of playing with Godmode cheats in a multiplayer game.

Things are a bit up in the air at the moment, with there being a lot of major changes on the Public Test Realms that affect twinks. In particular chest and leg enchants, and enchants on Bind on Account gear have had their effects removed for lower levels. While this evens things out a lot between twinks and non-twinks, there are still worries that casters in particular won't have the stamina to survive hunter's and rogue's burst DPS. Best to wait until 3.1 is released before going all out on enchants, and aim for stamina as far as possible (used to be recommended minimum 1200hp, then work on spell power and intellect. It's also worth building a second gear set that keeps as much stam and int as the other, but has as high spirit as possible, so you can get mana back quicker out of combat. An addon like outfitter will allow you to swap gear quickly.

This is a list I made when gearing my priest twink. Some of the stats may be a little off, as I made the list when healing and spell power were seperate. Some items show both healing and spell damage, where spell power is somewhere between the 2 old stats (I put in the spellpower for ones I remember). Now the two stats are merged priests are much better in PvP, as they get more damage to go with their healing. Mostly the list is from a Horde perspective, so a couple of items will need alliance alternatives finding. All the items can be found on Allakhazam for more on how to get them (and probably faction alternatives).

I used to think the same way. The sad truth though is that amongst twinks you have a kind of balance that level 80 players can only dream of, especially in this messed up current season. There are no rating requirements or any crap like that to keep you from gearing up your toon as much as possible, the only limiting factors being time and gold. This is until you have the best items available in every slot, and unlike with a level 80 toon, those pieces will keep its value. A twink built last year is still just as good today or even next year. It's value doesn't depreciate only because some people are lucky enough to be carried through some fancy raids. Overall you can actually focus on playing the game rather than chasing the same damn things over and over again.

It makes no difference to me whether somebody is picking best-in-slot items and enchants at 19, 29, or 80. Don't see how it could.
