I am a big fan of horde and all the characters I have played for more than an hour have been horde. I recently rolled a druid on both Horde and Alliance and am finding the Ally cat much more appealing than the horned feline. I didn't mean for it to be like this, it just happened.

I grown to like the horde cat, which is lame as I play ally.

I think I am more sick off the blue cat than actually into the horde model.

I'm very fond of taurens despite being a night elf, but my poor horned druid friends have one of the worst made models in the game. Visually it's a hack job, functionality it's broken. It's really sad that after all this time players have to continue to deal with it. GhostCrawler (A Dev) does promise that we should have some form of customization / revamped models in the near future. (Certainly not 3.1, but hopefully before the next expansion.)

God, please tell me they're going to give me a new boomkin model with it...

I wear all this cool looking armor and I end up having to shift into a giant bird... With horns.

At least you get to see your crazy weapons with enchant effects etc. I get my brand new Polearm, Black Ice, and don't get to show it off :(

The only thing that annoys me about the models is the flight forms - we started off with Horde having this lovely black bird and then out of the blue one day we got swapped over to this horrid dung brown color. Even swift-flight form looks terrible in that color scheme and in the mean time the Allies got to keep the beautiful black version. >_<

The horde cat looks ridiculous. I also think it's rather odd for a female druid to take on an obviously male cat form. What really makes me wonder is why they even bothered with the bird skin(s) for (swift) flight form. Could have just used the rest of the Windrider model.

Really sad, especially since every Tauren druid will eventually get to spend even just a little time in the Barrens, being confronted with a variety of decent looking cats.

Man I'm with you guys on this one.

I /love/ My druid, and I love feral, even when we were god aweful dps wise compared to others.

But..

We hordie cats look like a giant pixely twinky that got into a tussle with a hair brush.

It's aweful. I was just in H OS the other day, when I realized the EGGS in there are better textured then us, lol.

Not to mention we look like the inbred cousins of the wind rider wvyerns, what the hell is up with THEIR face, let alone ours? It's awful, rofl.

Though I have to say, our bear form looks a LOT better then Alliance bear form, their bear form is just... scary. The face is like a vampire bat or something. Creepy.

I'd be happy even if they just left us with the nasty looking cat we have now, if they'd just UPDATE the texture. Seriously. Stand a horde cat next to ANYONE or ANYTHING in the game, even vanilla WoW, even with your settings all the way jacked up, and our texture will still blurry and pathetic looking :[.

I don't normaly complain, let alone this much, but it's one of the few triggers that sets me off with this game.

.. But luckily, PLAYING the druid, I don't have to look at it's face :D. Just it's floppy ol' butt. [seriously, it flops. Not as weird look as moonkin rear when it runs, but close enough rofl].

I'm really excited that GC has finally said theres somthing coming for us since they had to "figure out" a new way to implement it since people on the oboards went apesh*t when they said it was going to be done via glyphs.

Hell, I would have prefered it done through glyphs and looking like cat models already in game then being stuck with the same cat form I've been staring at for 60 levels, and the same bear form for 70. Not to mention the years of playing =P.

But hopefully sometime after 3.1 they'll at least give us a nod that they're activly working on it.. Right? We can hope right ; ;?

I don't mind Horde cat - the /dance animation just makes me happy every time I see it - no clue why.

I can understand how it is a low priority as druid is not a huge population class. The art and code needs are fairly large as well.

But I also don't think they realize how happy it will make every druid to have new forms that reflect their toon's look and possibly gear.

It would be like Christmas.

I had no idea that the animal forms don't change at all as you get higher. That blows. Even tho the bird is a dodgy brown colour for horde is does look pretty cool, though looking more like a raven/crow would be sweet.

Running about last night doing some quests and I found myself staying in cat just coz it looks so purrrrty.

Our (Night Elves) color scheme is always been heavy on blues and purples while Taurens are earth tones. This comes the fact that Night Elves are known as the "Children of the Stars" in their own language and that coloring fits with an ethereal night sky. While Taurens worship the Earthmother the representation the land hench the browns. So while not your favorite colors it does fit.

When flight form was first introduced many Taurens dismayed at looking just like the night elves so blizzard changed the color to fit better with their color scheme. Not that it matters much now that Swift Flight Form is trainable, it really is just a temporary model (AND Swift Flight Form is SHEER awesome for both Factions!)

BTW NE Swift Flight Form is purple. :p

I personally prefer the Horde Swift Flight Form to the Alliance version. I don't mind brown, especially since it's not the crappy brown from the normal Flight Form, and its color scheme is more uniform overall. What I dislike the most about the Alliance version is how the flashy colors don't seem to fit. Purple, yellow, red, green, etc. It's not ugly, just a bit too flashy, much like the NE's themselves. :P (Oh and they still got those weird ears, that alone is enough for me to prefer the Horde version)

And yes, I do hate too the Horde Cat Form. I kinda like the Alliance version, perhaps because of that greener grass phenomenon, but I really think it looks better. And I don't think they ever fixed the Horde version's hitbox, did they?

WTB Tree-B-Gone glyph.

I'm so sick of this form, I hate it.

Love alliance kitty though, I hope it doesn't change :)

I do recall people linking some screen shots of what were to be new druid form apperances back before the xpac but maybe those were fakes?

Showing gear in cat and bird form would rock for us though - figure helm, shoulders and maybe chest gear could be shown up in critter forms and that'd definately add some flavor to us ferals.

Problem is that it'd be pretty tough to do that for trees and chickens.

I would love to see our appearance change fairly subtley as the average iLvl of our gear increases. Get a little bigger/more muscular and perhaps start having pieces of war armor appear (wouldn't have to be every piece of armor) have glowing red eyes etc. Just so from seeing the bear/cat you can tell roughly just how much of a badass they are :)

I'd like something that "scales" with gear, though I imagine that'd be much harder to imagine.

I found this a while ago, maybe some of you have seen it. Not 100% sure but if I remember correctly it's fan-made and would work only client-side and would constitute infringement of the ToA or some such.

Regardless, look and weep. I'd love to get an update like this.

Ah... Andrige. He's a EU druid. ::nods:: He's like the Druid's Visual Messiah. If he could do this in his spare time, I'm sure Blizzard... could do better. Andrige after all is just tweaking the skins, he can't do the model itself.

Yeah, I noticed the link in the picture and gave it a look.

I'm trying to decide if I wanna risk trying to use the pack... they really look much, much better than what's in the game right now. :/

Yeah, I cannot believe that they give TWO bear-changing glyphs and no cat one...

And I would love to see a Tree-form glyph that turns the form into something like those magical, shattered trees in Crystalsong Forest.

Umm, those ones that never actually made it to live? There are no form chainging glyphs in game at the moment.

Really? You'd think WoWDB would have updated that...

Okay then. That makes me happy (and sad).

I wonder if it has to do with PvP balance? I was just thinking how it would be much more annoying in a BG scenario if all the Druids looked like Polar Bears...

I can hardly see how the appearance of a form would be a PvP issue. As long as they don't make them exactly like Hunter pets, it wouldn't be hard to spot Druids. Plus it's not like all classes are easy to differentiate at a first glance (i.e. Priests/Mages, Warriors/DKs/Pallies, etc).
