Just making sure, How vital is defense. I'm under the assumption, from reading posts, that defense is not a big priority. However I have had two druids in as many days lecture me for not having enough defense. I have also had another person ask my defense before he let me into the party. Am I an illiterate boob, or are they off?

On a slightly different irritation, I was invited to a party, then kicked because they didn't need DPS. Apparently, I was in cat form, and they assumed that only dedicated dps use catform, so without saying anything about it they kicked me. They later let me in when they found out I was tank speced, and after they asked me a bunch of questions about my stats. anyone ever get the urge to ask these people about their attack power and threat mitigation abilities when they do this, just out of spite?

You don't need any defense if you have SotF. It makes you uncrittable. Defense is a very meh stat for tanking druids. Adds a little bit of dodge and chance to be missed not enough to make it worth actively seeking it out but it comes with a lot of the various tanking accessories you will may be using anyway.

If DPS or whoever wants to ask you various stat questions then by all means do it to them as well. Or answer their questions if random forms.

If a group kicks you for something like that it just screams retards. You should be glad to not be in the group and not accept the new invite.

Heh, agreed.

And yeah, if they start asking so many questions, just don't bother or ask them the same, especially when they have no clue about your class mechanics. Ask that Rogue how much spell penetration he has...

It does annoy me when I get asked how much spellpower I have before accepting a healing invite only to find out the tank has 22k health, being crittable and the mage is doing a constant 800 DPS. Pointing out that I have almost 37k health unbuffed as a tank while being uncrittable and doing 1500 DPS was not a good way to start out an instance run.

It's all a matter of how you present.

PS I haven't been kicked from a party as healer because I was in cat form yet; still waiting on it though. I have been asked if I was a healer while I was in tree though. Makes you wonder about some people.

Yeah, it seems that 99 percent of people that aren't druids aren't aware of the fact that feral druids need zero defense to be uncrittable.

Not sure how bad it is with tanking but I get SOOO tired of the "what is your spellpower?" questions before people ask me if I even WANT to heal something. My first reaction is to say 1000 rather than my 2000, because like other people said, it is better to avoid stupid/rude groups than do anything at all.

And as far as them kicking you because you were in cat form and thinking you were dps... yeah. That was a definite group to avoid.

I get the same questions as feral. "What's you HP in bear form?". As if 40k HP is going to save the healer if the tank doesn't know how to keep mobs off him :P

If I put tank in the LFG box and they as me any questions...

What's your HP?
1.5mil

What's your Dodge?
101%

If I put Healer in LFG Box...

What's your Spellpower?
1.5mil

What's your Mana Regen?
1.5mil

If I put DPS in LFG Box...

What's your DPS?
1.5mil

It's gotten to the point after this long, that anyone who frequents LFG either knows I can do what I say I can, or doesn't even bother asking me in the first place.

I love being a tank btw. I get in, they give me lead. It becomes MY run. I make the rules.
