Profession DilemaFollow

Well, on my DK I have been having troubles deciding which professions to take. Right now I am nearly maxed inscriptioning and maxed herb. I am planning on dropping herbing and picking up either JC or BS. There seems to be very little difference in the gains from each, I was wanting some opinions on which to pick up.

I already have an alt with JC around 385 and maxed mining so the mats are not a problem. Or should I drop both and pick up BS+JC?

Also, are there any long term benefits with each? For example, will there be BoP BS recipes later in the game? etc.

If it helps any, on this toon, I mostly PvP because my main is my raider. Many thanks.

Jewelcrafting seems almost mandatory right now because of the prismatic gems and trinkets. Having extra sockets through blacksmithing on top of that would be perfect.

BoP patterns won't matter much to you if your focus is on PvP since you'll be getting your gear through honor and/or arena points anyway.

I went double gatherer. I haven't ever had to worry about gold, in fact, I don't have anything else I can buy with gold and I'm still piling it up.

Well since you already have a BS who can make you any gear that isn't BoP, and inscription gives you a steady source of income/ shoulder inscriptions, and you said you mostly would like to PvP on this toon, and it was already stated you'll get most of your gear through honor/arena points.

I'd go with JC so you can use the BoP trinkets, the better gems and still make money off it since you have a miner already to feed you and you can sell the JC skills just like you can the Inscription and BS.

Holy run-on sentences!

Good call, that's what I get for posting while sick. Brain...functions...shutting...down...

Switch that then. You have to decide if the JC specific trinkets/gems are more important than the BS BoP equipment. Either shouldn't be hard to level with a miner already maxed.

I'm planning on going BS/Mining when 80, as I'm planning to tank. I MAY go with /skinning if I think the Crit's +DpS/+TpS is superior to the 50 STA, but that will depend a lot on my gems/gear/spec/guild/enchants.

Really, professions exist to give you what you want. If you want to Min/Max, do that. If you want to make gearing easier, do that.

What you really mean is "I am planning on buying herbs for inscription and ore or bars for my other profession." See you in the poor-house.

No, As i stated, I am near max on ins so after I make all the cards I need (which will lead to dropping herb after) I will not need herbs for much anymore. I also have a toon with max mining so I will not be buying ore/bars either.
