Simple question. If you DW, will you get a PPM for each weapon or overall?

Meaning:

1 2.0s 2-hander... Say the PPM is 6.

2 2.0s 1-handers... Will I get 12 procs or 6 procs?

If it is a PPM per weapon it would be towards 12, but overall it would be 6...

Just wondering.

Two PPM calculations for two weapons, they're separate. But beware the normalization calculation gremlins. Theory says one thing, but that ain't always what practical experience will produce =)

Killing Machine is a "ppm" now or a proc per minute. That means it will proc 5 times a minute with 5 ranks, depending on your weapon speed. We generally use ppm when we do not want players to gravitate towards faster weapons with the sole purpose of improving proc rates.

Killing Machine now is based on autoattack hits, not crits. Overall the random element will decrease, but it won't greatly benefit faster weapons. It will still benefit dual wield, just not as much.

It has a set number of max procs, regardles of whether you DW or 2h. I also think OHs cannot proc it, but I can't find that GC post.

Whoops.. I need to learn to read thread titles better.

I do remember reading that talented PPMs were treated differently than item based ones (which operate on the item, ie dual weapons = dual procs). Sorry for any confusion.

This^^

Unlike the shammy effects (windfury + maelstrom weapon) they wanted to normalize the ppm to keep it from getting out of control.

Personally, looking at that post, I think they should have just made a solid PPM that is decreased by half while Dual Wielding.

The numbers reported in that post are very, very wierd. Granted, it should be pointed out that each test only lasted 3 minutes, so...
