As fascinating as the trolling has been (which I apparently missed--fiddlesticks
), maxdps isn't a legitimate source of information to really anyone.
If you're at the point where you can effectively use maxdps and know what you're doing, you don't need it in the first place.
As Therion wisely pointed out, just looking at a gear list on wowhead will give you the same results.
If you have no idea what you're doing and trying to find gear, then you're screwed either way and should be looking into spreadsheets, because:
1) Spreadsheets are more reliable and more idiot-proof
2) maxdps isn't wholly accurate in their number calculations
3) their site is a lot harder to work with than it should be
4) they have that ******* annoying Rachel Ray CBS ad on their site.
It's really not an ideal site. I have no idea if there's a DK spreadsheet out yet (Ã la Vulajin's rogue spreadsheet), but if there is, there shouldn't be any discussion on what to use for DPS calculations.
