Hi ppl not sure if any of you have experienced this yet, but when im close to defeating a mob and i use entangling roots i sometimes don't get the exp for the kill and im not allowed to loot. No one else has touched the mob just me regular fighting and before the mob is going to make a break for it i hit ER, strap them in and kill them off and the spell somehow is stealing my kill. This has happened about 7 times, im lvl 41 and noticed it will i was killing goblin foremen near a cave in STV. Anyone know anything about this?

I'm not Balance so obviously I don't use Roots all that often. The few times that I do, say, for kiting an elite or something, it does not mess up my kills.

One thing I have noticed since the expansion however, is that I will sometimes stumble upon mobs that are tapped but not in combat (i.e. they reset with full health but they are still considered tapped). Killing them would indeed give me no XP and no loot. Perhaps it's similar problem? :/

Sorry I can't be of any more help.

That is of help Selverein, cause now that u mentioned it there was a bloodelf there killing mobs. He was hitting mobs and not killing them all , and they would go back to their positions, maybe the game is not reseting the tagging when the mobs return to their placements.

I believe that is exactly what is happening as I am / was experiencing the same thing and just thought I was getting lag spikes.

Once I let them reset and went back and killed them, it was fine. So a minor annoyance that will hopefully go away quickly.

It's possible that your roots is causing the killing blow and there may be a bug involved with that.

I've noticed this with my treants before. I pop them set them to aggressive and let them wreak havoc and if they tag a mob and kill it before I cast a single spell on it I won't receive the kill or be able to loot.

all pets do this. Its to keep people from afking and haveing pet on agressive to get exp off of mobs it can solo. i think that is another reason they have the afking after so long and then the boot even longer.

My bets are on this, because I have noticed this too. Quite annoying actually, but it is not illogical (spelling?) that it happens after the patch that taps a mob on every action that aggros it. My guess is that this will be noticed and hotfixed quite soon.

Until then, what can you do? Avoid those mobs or kill them so they spawn a fresh one I would say.

The interesting part about the whole pet killing thing is all you need to do is tag the mob once and the pet can kill it and you still collect the loot and exp.
