I may give MM or SV a shot with a respec tonight just to finally do something different. Probably MM since I plan on doing some BG's at 80 for a bit.

yea im wonderin the same thing. i feel like moving to MM but idk. i would like to get an exotic pet but DPS would increase so much with MM

coming back to this question after playing WoW for a bit i realized...

Probably the best build for a hunter would be MM, because your pet can tank without you wasting your talent points, simply take his talent points and give him stamina

Numbers from naxx clears before and after 3.0.8 taken from WWS

1/13/09

Auto shot 23% of damage done averaging 1534

Steady shot 21% of damage done averaging 1855

ES 16% of damage done averaging 897 (not impressive)


1/20/09

Auto shot 20% of damage done averaging 1612

Steady shot 11% of damage done (indicative of the nerf and me learning to make better use of the right shot rotation as this is my second raid running SV.)

ES 27% of damage done averaging 1972 (wow what a buff!)

Respecced to SV today,have to say im liking it alot.Trap dancing isnt really too hard,just run up to the boss and throw a trap down,pop Disengage and continue Pew-pewing,or if your out questing kite em through your trap and pew-pew and run.BM is and will always be the most efficient way to lvl a hunter simply for the fact of the survivability that pet gives you while lvling and throw a FD and then run away and you can escape nearly EVERY situation if needed.I am a newborn Survival lover :)

Depends on what you call decent.
As SV with mostly Naxx10 gear, my Ap is at 4.1k, my crit is at 33% (with only hawk)
