If Arthras is ever released,he should drop Frostmoune on occasion. It could be DK-only as we are the few who have mastered the forces of undeath. It could be a very low drop, and be ultra powerful or it could be a quest starter(like the head of Mag etc) that leads us on a very very very very VERY long chain resulting in a somewhat purefied blade that would be even more powerfull than the low rate drop. What do you think should happen?

It would need to give health when you beat things with it like in W3.

But we shouldnt have to share with any of the other classes, more 1337 gear for us plx!

I am 100% against Frostmourne being available for players. It steals the frickin' soul of whoever uses it.

I guess there could be a quest line to "cleanse" the sword, like turning the Corrupted Ashbringer back...

But, you would still have to figure out how to let a player, you know, carry it to the quest npc...

Death Knights ought to be able to handle the blade just fine imo, they are already in the same frosty club as the Lich King.

There is a point to be made though that regular 'mortal' players should actually have their souls stolen etc, but if you recall, Frostmourne was created by the Lich King and it specifically states in WC3 that he 'empowered' it to steal souls. That says to me that in reality it's his power that's doing the hard work, the blade is just a conduit or something.

Therefore, since in order to actually get Frostmourne you need to have killed the Lichmeister, it makes sense his power in it would have diminished. Plus, Legendary or not, Frostmourne in its fully empowered state would just be too powerful a weapon to have in game; if it can steal the owner's soul it can bloody well steal other people's too.

I think the Lich King dropped you on your head in the starter area.

I don't agree with Mental often but this time I do. The Frostmourne should not be a drop like Illidan's blades. If anything that weapon should end up destroyed by Alexstrazza since it steals life.

hay guiz i wana use a sord dat stealz mai soul!!!1!!

Seriously, Ner'zhul consumes the soul of whoever touches the blade to the point that they almost seem non-existent after.

There's not really a way to "cleanse" the blade according to lore, as whoever touches the blade gets their soul consumed.

So unless it gets retconned, we won't see a Frostmourne item, and I'm perfectly OK with that.

It'll get retconned then.

Frostmourne WILL be a dropped item, mark my words. They went to far too much trouble with the model, and they even talked about it at one of the conventions. Sorry, but it'll definitely be in game, its central location in so many in-game shots is quite a crude psychological device employed by the artists.

Mentalfrog if you like to troll that's fine, just dont get the idea you're doing anything constructive. Dumping random bile onto the internet might make you feel all tough and surly, but its little different from the spiteful thrashings of every other grubby little forum poster with a chip on his shoulder.

Laugh all you like, continue your one-line flames til they turn the servers off, Frostmourne will be a droppable and obtainable item, and you're an idiot if you don't see that.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't a usable item in the game. Your reasoning is just stupid.

He's just pointing out that "they put a lot of work into making the model" is a retarded reason for Frostmourne being in the game. And it is.

It isnt a 'reason', it's just evidence. Almost every mob in the game that carries a recognisable mainhand weapon shares that weapon with a drop; this is true for Murmur, Ragnaros, Lucifron/domo... the list is actually pretty substantial.

Thus, regardless of all other more obvious considerations which had clearly eluded the OP, it's obvious by looking at the Arthas model that the Frostmourne blade is already a seperate model, rather than a hashed-up addition to the boss art.

Its just a plain fact in addition to so many other more obvious ones.

Oh so there is more reasoning behind it. You just didn't mention it. You're getting warmer.

Based on these "Facts" (they aren't really facts, just conclusions you've come to based on your own interpretations), we should have access to Maiev Shadowsong's cloak and weapon ... that's some of the finest gear I've seen (it's subjective, of course, not everyone will agree with me), but I'm yet to see them as usable items.

There's also the boss in Shattered Halls that drops his fist on heroic, but that's still not a "substantial" list compared to the amount of bosses in the game.
