When I dinged 70 on my hunter, she was my first level-cap toon in the game, and I was petrified. This forum was my first lesson in research and planning for upgrades.
At some point, I started healing on my druid, fell in love, and relegated my hunter to farmbot status.
Yesterday I was doing the cooking quest in Dalaran, and someone was asking for dps for regular Violet Hold. I figured what the heck, and signed up. I'd forgotten how much fun it is to be a hunter in a group. I actually got to pay attention to the fights, rather than the whack-a-mole and making sure I'm not standing in AoE. Now I think I want to actually gear her up and make her a viable raider too.
I came back to the Hunter forums hoping against hope that the gearlist would be updated. I was afraid it would have been allowed to die with BC. But yay! There it was. So now I'm starting again on the gearing process. Should be interesting, I'll have to read up a lot to learn what all has changed.
p.s. I always took pride in my trapping skills back at 70, but from what I've seen while healing, no one ever calls for cc anymore. Is trapping a lost art?
*edit* p.p.s Despite my disappointment in the lack of cc responsibilities, I have to say: volley is just sexy nowadays. Is it true that there is an impending nerf?
*edit* (again) removed what was, apparently, offensive material. . . /shrug
