Every race has some useful abilities, and it greatly depends on what you want to do.

Tank?
PVP?
DPS?

Honestly, I went with Draenei because I already had Human and Night Elf characters, and I haven't noticed a big loss in my character. Thankfully, race doesn't currently have a huge effect on this game. Pick which one you like best and stick with it.

Or if you really want a stock answer, just roll a Human and call it good.

Orc. Any other race is wrong. I'll tell you why.

First, when you think of a warrior, what do you think of? An Orc of course! Just remember back in the days of Warcraft 1 and 2, what were the orcs? Warlike! They also used big axes and whatnot. What does a warrior use? Big axes and whatnot.

Second, who gets the most out of axes? Orcs. That right there is reason enough to tell you that anyone who says a race besides Orc is just crazy! Because warriors and axes... yeah. They go together like peanut butter and jelly, like gin and tonic water, like brussel sprouts and the trash can. Yeah, you get me.

Go Orc or go home!

Human : Expertise with swords and maces, Good for tanking or DPS
Extra rep gains with factions, great for gearing up when you hit 80 and for other rewards.

Dwarf : Stoneskin that increases armor and poison immunity, good in limited situations.

Drain-eye : Self heal
Inspiring presence, gives others a 1% chance to hit, more hit is always good

Night elf: Quickness, reduces chance to be hit by 2%, speaks for itself
Shadowmeld

Gnome: Escape artist, amazing for pvp
They look the nuts

You're also missing the human racial - Every Man for Himself: Removes all movement impairing effects and all effects which cause loss of control of your character. This effect shares a cooldown with other similar effects, 2 minute cooldown.

My warrior is a night elf and if I wasn't so high level I'd probably redo her as a human.

Every man for himself is an amazing ability that humans have. It is used in almost every instance I do cause there are mobs that can sheep you: Nexus , Stun you : almost every instance. And tanking is all about controlling your mobs and not permit mobs to control you --->Your Group

Humans also have an ability for a stealth detection.

ah yes, thanks mental.

I havnt played a human char in ages, every man for him self is very good in PVP and PVE.
It seems to be escape artsit and everything else, to bring escape artist back upto par they should give it the WotF effect of immunity from snares for X seconds.

Quickness, agree very nice.

Shadowmeld: Personally I love it. For Raids to farming....It helps on wipes to reduce that awfully massive repair bill we have; and for faming, swoop in gather your whatever...step away from any angry mobs, and POP...lose them and continue on.

Man I'm hoping you are DPS warrior for the Shadowmeld... lol...

Edit: I could see it now, tanking.

"Oh man I've got like 2% HP left, I am so going to die, this healer sucks.

"GO GO SHADOWMELD GO"

*Poof*

*Rest of the raid in unison* "WTF!!!"

"I didn't want a big repair bill."

I get chuckles just thinking about it. I know someone would or has done it once somewhere out there lol.

My warrior friend tried that on the Lich boss in heroic Drak'Tharon Keep just after the last summoner was killed. He told us he was trying to be mad and throw on his frost resist set... Fun times hehe

Ever Man for Himself is freaking HOT. I use that thing so much in PvE it's ridiculous. I can't tell you how many times in BC I would wish for being able to equip a PvP trinket for certain fights, and then bam...we get that.

Devious, you should like this. I used to have that one trinket from KoT rep that had stam and then a threat dump on use. I would equip it and then randomly let a DPS creep up to me on threat and then blow that trinket. There were a lot of private laughs over that in officer chat.
