I'm lvl 73(half a bar from 74) and I can't find a good healing mace for the life of me.

I've searched here, but I still can't find a good blue healing mace until lvl 77, where I already have the BS made one in the bank.

Any suggestions?

At 74, you can get the Zul'drak quest ("A Tangled Skein") for Dutybound Mace of Purity.
Not a mace, but a sword from Grizzly Hills - Sword of the Caged Mind is available at 73 ("Filling The Cages").
I was lucky enough to have the 150 badge of justice mace, and didn't trade it in until Totemic Purification Rod...

I actually did just buy maces until 75 when I could do the Amphitheater quest for *****-Sprung Fixer-Upper. At 80 I'm working on Revered with Wyrmrest for Gavel of the Brewing Storm.

Oh, and a quick note on Amphitheater, if you want everyone in your group to get credit, have the leader accept the quest and share it (might be a bug, but we weren't all getting credit until we did that).

At 80, get the mats together and get yourself a http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=41384;source=live. If you aren't a miner of a blacksmith, become friends with at least one of these.

I believe that they are going to nerf the spellpower on it to better match the ilevel of the item, but it is still going to be superior to any healing mace you can get until Naxx. Right now it is insane because with a +50 spellpower enchant it has 540 spellpower by itself.

I'm a miner and a RL friend of mine is a blacksmith. When I hit 77 with my pally and get mah epic flyer, I'm going to town on ores while waiting for instance groups. Hopefully I can gather enough to make a few lvl 80 epic pieces by the time I'm level cap. That mace is the first thing on my list. : )

@angry. Thanks a ton for that info. I'll definitely be getting that done when I hit 75.

Yeah, they are nerfing it's spell power in 3.0.8 (457 on the PTR from what I've heard), and it has no Int =(

Yes, the titansteel guardian is going down from 490 spellpower to 457 after the patch, but that is still 507 spellpower after the spellpower enchant. Also, yes, it has no Int, but it does have Crit. If you are doing things right, you shouldn't be going OOM anyway, so I would think that the ton of stamina and spellpower plus the crit rating would be pretty darn nice.

I agree that if it had +30 Int as well it would be perfect, but hey... how often does Blizz allow anyone to have a perfect CRAFTED weapon. At least this one is darn close.

As always, opinions on Titansteel Guardian are going to be all over the map, based on how each individual rates +int...

jeromesimina must be really bearish to rate it above the +408 spellpower mainhands after the nerf. I'm somewhat bullish, and put it a notch below them even now (the real bulls wouldn't even put it in the same zip code).

I'd go further, but I don't think it's too controversial to say that it will be roughly even with them once it has a +457 spellpower. Depending on your bankroll and the server economy, a few Heroic Nexus runs for War Mace of Unrequited Love (took me four) might be more palatable.

I am not saying that the Warmace of Unrequieted Love is bad, but most Holy Pallys will take Crit over mp5. It does have a good amount of intellect, which the Guardian is lacking, but it has no Stam, which the Guardian has a load of.

I guess I would leave it to YJMark or Bohdi at this point, but both of them have said that mp5 for a Holy Pally is pretty much garbage now and should never be itemized for if you can avoid it, but Crit is tasty. I guess it depends on your playstyle, but when I play Holy I have a big enough mana pool with the Guardian to not worry about the +Int or the +mp5 from the love-mace and the extra +Stam gives me even more surviveability.

If you like even more +Int and you think you need the +mp5, then yes, the mace from H Nexus is for you.

Interestingly, Titansteel Guardian and Gavel of Brewing Storm are listed as being the same item level.

Yeah, its a matter of opinion, I just personally don't feel Titansteel Guardian is 1800g good...

The Gavel of the Brewing Storm will end up having only 102 less spellpower than the Guardian once the Guardian is nerfed, plus, the Gavel has Int, Stam, Crit, and Haste, all of which are perfect stats for a Holy Paladin. Out of all the weapon options out there, the Gavel is probably the most well-rounded stat-wise until you get something from a raid.

I can definitely see sales of/requests for the Guardian to drop (and the price to drop accordingly) after the nerf, especially since the Gavel and the Love-mace are essentially free other than some time investment. The Guardian has been worth the mats/cost to make it based on its enormous spellpower, but post-nerf it isn't going to be as impressive.

I guess I have changed my opinion on the subject due to this forum, (which is a good thing) but I would say that as far as having nearly perfect stats for a Pally, the Gavel is superior if you don't need the extra spellpower of the Guardian, and I would probably still recommend the Guardian over the H Nexus mace.

Well, yes. Item level 200 is the level for heroic blues, heroic epics, normal naxx/OS/Vault epics, and many revered and exalted rep items. The difference is entirely because one's epic, one's blue.

And I agree on the Guardian. It's not worth that much now, and then after the change, it'll be equivalent to the Nexus mace.

The BS mace and the Nexus mace are comparable. If you find yourself running low on mana during fights, then get the Nexus mace. If you are ok on mana, then get the BS mace.

Both of those maces are better than the rep mace. Of course, the rep mace is the best you can get until then :)

So the order of maces, as I'd recommend are:
Lvl 75 - get one from Zul-Drak Amphitheater
Lvl 80 - Get BS mace or try to get Nexus mace (both are equally good - even after patch nerf to BS one). If you can't afford BS, and can't find groups to grind Nexus with you, then start grinding Wyrmrest rep for that mace. They also have some nice bracers at Revered. The nice thing about Wyrmrest is that you'll probably be half way through honored already from questing in Dragonblight, so a few heroics, and you'll be at Revered (needed for mace and bracers).

As usual YJM, I have to agree with you. I was revered with Wyrmrest by the time I hit 80 because I made sure I did both dailies every day first thing - there are three but the Aces High! requires a flying mount. One is to capture the drake in Transitus Shield and the other is to defend the Wyrmrest Temple in Dragonblight.

Getting the the Totemic Purification Rod from Kalu'ak rep was even easier and I had it before L80. Do all the Kalu'ak quests and then do the three dailies every day. Btw, the dailies are not a waste because you get exp and some cash along with rep.

And baveux, if you want something right now at L73 check the AH. I tried to sell a pretty nice blue healing mace and got no takers, and just this morning DE'd it so I cannot tell you the name unfortunately.

As for Guardian vs. Nexus mace, there is no concrete answer. If you stack Int and money is not an issue (or you are a miner/BS) then Guardian is going to be attractive for its higher spellpower. If you are in need of mp5 or if money is an issue then the Nexus mace is the one to go with. I will admit it is hard to pass up the price on the Nexus mace, especially if you are lucky with drops.

Well in addition to all the suggestions here I would point:
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=37805

Item lvl is 75. Random drop unfortunately. I got it from a mob in Zul'Drak

I'm approaching 75 and looking at the AoA rewards.

Theres more decent healing maces all over northrend, but a complete and utter lack of anything good that's 2h

My RL friend is a tank and a good one, so I've just been specing holy for hours on end where we chain run 5-6 dungeons, then I go back to ret occasionally. If you think you'll be doing any soloing as ret, I'd say get the 2h from AoA questline, the mace is nice but I feel you can live without it healing groups. I'm still using a cudgel of consecration (lol) with no enchant and don't mind using it for a while longer.

It's disappointing how some of these questlines really force you to pick a spec, especially when theres such a lack of any decent leveling 2h'ers

Drag two friends along with you and you can get Axe of Frozen Death by level 72, easy (earlier if you're Horde). That one lasted me until AoA, and it looked pretty cool to boot (fair warning, I didn't do all of 72-75 as ret, but the weapon wasn't the weakest part of my ret set).
