I tend to make tons of poisons despite my level. I go through so much and change poisons so frequently in pve that i dont think i could live without them. They are there to be used, i dont see the point in skimping out. I normally keep a stack of 20 instants for pve, maybe 20 crippling, 10 deadly for group situations (especially on elites) and a couple of mind numbings.
also incase you havn't noticed the new pickpocketing in 1.12 allows you to pick up poison regeants & such from mobs so those of us who arent herbalists can still make use of blind and thistle teas.
poisons are there to be used. Sure it might be expensive & it might feel like you are wasting skill points by making 30 potions when you skill is maxed out, but if youve ever had a situation where your ambush crits, your main & offhand crit & both your poisons proc at the same time you will be grinning with joy when your mob is at less than half health in one hit. The new poison talents also increase damage/chance to hit and i think duration... its an essential part of roguery. Try going an extended period of time with them & then try living without them. everytime you die you will think "if one of my poisons had kicked in i wouldnt be corpse running right now" and that will make up your mind next time you think its a waste of money.
Edit - dont know if this has been mentioned, but you can apply poisons whilst stealthed. so if you ever find yourself with a tempting pvp target you can change poisons to suit the situation without letting them know you are there. Double crippling is a must for hunters, you can run them through easily if they cant run away with wing clip - make sure you open with cheapshot (or sap, kill pet restealth, cheapshot) so you get 4 seconds where your poisons have a chance to proc.
