It has gotten a bit frustrating. And this isn't the only place I hang out at that's been getting hit lately.

I think Kao can't really do enough by himself and devs haven't been set on it yet, or something.



It is getting more and more frustrating though.

We should start using my private journal...no one ever posts in there.

1. There is a limitation set on the ban system due to a past issue where an admin was banning new posters they did not like (by new I mean less than 1k posts). In response, a knee jerk ban post threshold was put in place for all admins except myself and Darqflame. Once the spammers hit that threshold only two people or a dev can ban them.
2. Banning an account hides all posts, but it does not remove the post from the topic list order. Currently only two people (Darqflame or myself) or a dev can remove posts entirely in a state that makes them as if they never existed and do not show up in the thread order.
3. Removing a thread requires 3 clicks per thread, then three clicks to get back to the list to remove the next one. There is no "send every goddamned spam post by this user elsewhere" button. Not for lack of requesting.
4. Numerous requests for adjusting the filter, the thread removal system, the forum display engine to not display banned threads, etc. have not been assigned developer time as of now or over the last several months that this problem has been a major issue. Not without repeated requests.
5. Blocking every IP in India has been requested.

I'm late for my other job yet again because of the need to remove a pile of spammers manually first thing in the morning. It's really pissing me off that no one will either do something about this, or give me access to the code to do it myself, and I'm not really sure what to do about it at this point. Something needs to change.

I'm happy to send angry letters too (or jovial letters if you'd prefer) just point the way and they'll feel the wrath/love/whatever.

I'd have made sure to get to where I needed to be first, and then dealt with aesthetics later. Active threads will move back to the front in a timely manner. Some of us will do it purely for the extra number. Dealing with a minor inconvenience, while touching, isn't worth the risk of you losing a paycheck.

I know, and believe me i share all of that frustration. I kind of pitched a bit of a fit this morning about this siuation, so it looks like the dev time is being moved up in priority, That being said, i've removed about 400 threads with the words "kitchen" and or "Baba" in the title since this morning too. Should not take an act of god to get certain things added to the filter system.

Feel free to send letters if you want. I don't know that they will help at this point since things are moving forward theoretically though.
