Gearing moer than one job questionFollow

Since we dont get new ILs every update patch, and not counting Extreme Primals or Savage raids as Im never could enough to get invited to those. How possible is i to keep 2 jobs geared to the same IL and still have time to do other stuff (like play different games). For example the last few patches before SB when (whatever the highest tome was you could get back then) gear was done, all had to do then is the 24 man raid once a week to get the upgrade item for the gear, after that I had ALL week to play other games, then since the next patch 3.5b i think only added story. I just logged on for a few hours knocked that out and I had month to spend playing other games and never seeing FFXIV.

hat seems VERY possible to do with only one job but what about 2?

If my math is right it would take 10 weeks to fully gear two jobs in Deltascape because of weekly lockouts and 6 months for 2 jobs for tome gear because of weekly lockouts and dont we get new gear every 2 updates? (so 6 months) meaning no time for other games (well aside for 2 days a week and the few hours in the other days after capping your tomes for the week) but no prolonged periods ala the time between 3.5 and 4.0 and Im sure if we throw getting 2 relic weapons into the mix plus whenever the 24 man raid its = "so much time consumption you can forget about playing anything other than FF unless you stick to one job) am I right?

If so this would be a great reason to remove weekly restrictions, let us burn through this stuff and gear up however many jobs we want ASAP so we can move onto other stuff wile we wait for the next update lol

If you're not doing EX Primals or Savage Raids, why do you need best I-level on multiple jobs?

I could see getting one job up to 330, but if you want to do others, I'd think that Verity would be plenty good enough, as I'd be guessing dungeons in the next patch would most likely be tuned to 300-310. Maybe 320 tops. And since you're not doing Ex or Savage, that's plenty good enough for everything else.

Better gear = faster runs and in the likeyhood i AM invited to do EX/Savage well I now have a ranged and melee DPS (as needed) with the best gear it could possibly have to do said content.

Its not that I dont WANT to do Savage or Extreme its more that the "no bonus/have experience/clear only" community makes getting that stuff done impossible for the "average" player

While that might be true, the better way to get "in", is to instead make some friends and get some connections and show them that you're a good player. Gear won't do this for you. I suggest picking the job you perceive yourself as best at, focus on THAT job. If you try to be too much of a jack of all trades, well.... Eorzea's full of them. What people want, is a player who knows their job inside and out and can hit those 90% performances on a consistent basis. What they don't need, however, is a player who can only do, say, 70-80% performances on multiple jobs because he doesn't have the time, energy, or money to bring them all up to 90%+.

Savage Raiding and Ex Primals (while they are current) really require you to be on the top of your game, and people are tired of newbies that can't perform. You gotta prove yourself better than that, and the best way to do this, is to make friends and show you're a good player. Then, once people start whispering about you between themselves, who knows, you could get invited to an FC or a linkshell that's trying to cut their teeth on Savage/Ex Primals.

Sadly, this will always be the case with PUGs. You're not gonna do it on PUGs. PUGs just want to fill a slot when they are 1 or 2 short, and they want someone they know can perform well enough to clear the content, and the only way they can find this out, is if you have achievements for that content. Otherwise, they're blindly putting their faith in someone they don't know, and far more often than not, this ends in disaster.

What you should be instead trying to do, is fall in with a linkshell..... or just accept the fact that if you can't get an LS or endgame FC, then endgame is simply not reachable. It's not for everyone; I've accepted this a long time ago. I will see Omega Savage someday... just not while it is current. I'll go in there later when I vastly out-gear the place and nobody cares and when our more casual-friendly FC has it on farm. No big deal.
