Guys please help me. I haven't played ffxiv in probably a year. I decided to get back into it and buy the expansion. It turns out I have no idea where I am in the story and I cannot get into Heavensward. I even Emailed support and they literally did not help at all. Can I not see how many main scenario quests I have left until I can go to Heavensward???? Why is it so hard to find this out? Im kind of freaking out and super irritated. I just did the crate bombs at that endgame place if that helps :/ sorry i suck. please help :(
Ok open up your quest journal, click Completed, and select Seventh Astral Era Main Scenario Quests from the drop down list. Scroll all the way to the bottom and that SHOULD be the last main scenario quest you've completed. From there we can figure out where the next quest starts.

THANK YOU!!!! my last 2 quests are rock the castrum and the ultimate weapon. my only 2 level 50 quests. Am I far from heavensward :(

I just finished a few more. I am now on "the things we do for tea".... im just not understanding how many i have to do before I can get to heavensward. am i just an idiot?

Ok The Things We Do For Tea is pretty early on. The next quest in the line should be It's Possibly a Primal. It's started by Tataru in Western Thanalan (I'm assuming this means she's at the Waking Sands) go there and see if she has a quest for you. After that just following along the quest railroad and eventually you'll hit Heavensward content.
Unfortunately you've got kind of a ways to go and you're required to finish through 2.55 (Before the Dawn) before you can do Heavenswardy things.

You're in 2.1's content right now. The final patch was 2.55.....
It's going to take you a while. Rough estimate if you really hammer it home, maybe 2 weeks.
But please take a little longer than that... take the time to do little things like eat and pee.
