Hi all,

With the expansion in its sophomore week, by now we have all set our ideal pace and realized what we would like to accomplish. As the next week passes us by, what do you hope to achieve?

My goals:

1. On my 60 bard, I need to keep doing all daily roulettes, all daily hunt logs, and morning / late night hunt parties (because afternoons are a clusterf%&). I have managed to get the 180 bow, chest, and pants out of the way, and those are by far the most expensive. Ultimate goal is to outfit bard in ilvl 179 (right now I think I'm at 161...)

2. Paladin is level 51. Goal is to hit 52 by the weekend, maybe 53, and 54 by the end of next week. Ran the 51 dungeon and gained a little less than half a level. This is good. I should be able to level paladin solely off of dungeons. Goes the same for warrior and healers eventually. Don't know what I'm going to do about the other DPS though...

3. Keep pulling in airship runs for the FC. Now that the FC gloriously pulled together and got this thing in the air, it brought home about 500k in resources on its maiden voyage. Definitely worth sending out some more.

4. Tried my hand at crafting. Too expensive. Decided leveling gatherers is more sensible than wasting all my money like I did with the initial 1-50 push where all crafters were 50 before I even touched a gatherer. So botanist and miner are getting my prime attention for now. Hope to have each at 51 before the end of next week.

5. IV materia haven't been this low in price since they were 100 gil a piece. I can not see this lasting. As soon as the next relic quest rolls in, people will need those materia, mark my words. So until then, I'll just keep buying them up at 2k each.

6. Will try bismark EX again in a few ilvls. DPS is a bit better now. Coat and pants were huge upgrades.

Whew! I've played more in the last week than I did in the previous month combined.

Currently 57 BRD and at The Vault. I'd like to hit 60 and finish everything in the next week.

That's it, that's all I want to do.

The expansion early access was good to me. So far, I have Astrologian at 54 with Bard at 51. I am having an absolute blast just running around, messing with the story, exploring, the workshop, crafting, and pretty much everything other than Fisher (It's still at 35 guys! Can you believe it?!)

As for this upcoming week, I only have a few hard set goals:

BRD 55
AST 55
More Story

Beyond those, I'm just going to keep goofing around and not rush myself. I might start crafting a bit more seriously as I've only been playing around with a few of the new recipes rather than leveling them up. I still haven't decided which specialties to have at first.

Finished up all of my Asuran upgrades for my main. I like the ideas of hunts but it could have been implemented so much better...even Voidwatch style.

I'd like to get a Bismarck EX clear this week... Ravana would be nice too, but I'd settle for Bismarck. Apart from that just MOAR GEERZ. I have my 180 upgraded Law weapon as that was priority 1, but still need more.. always more... never enough.

ALMOST level 59. Finally had a chance to play today, and I took advantage to the tune of about 10 hours. :)

Busy off and on throughout the week, so my main goal is just to hit 60 and finish the MSQ.

As of this morning, bard is ilvl 178. Did a LOT of grinding over the weekend. I am exactly 6 seals away from being capped. I will start gathering daily hunts and law (from expert and trial) for tank gear. High level and low level roulette are now reserved for leveling paladin.

Ahead of schedule here. Hit 55 on paladin last night. Dungeons give about 400k with that armory bonus. Fates in N Than give 20k each, 50k for Gorgimera, and about 100k total for DD. Spawns are pretty quick but it is boring as all heck.

Did ok on this, Ikaru is handling most of it. Building a second ship with "invincible" pieces. Don't know much about it.

Ahead on this as well. Level 53 botanist, still level 50 miner though. Still haven't found a collectable gathering node... Used wood from said botanist and leve allowances to get carpenter to 56 and unlock specialist status. Whistle while you work and satisfaction are OP.

Those things are way down. I have stacks now. I can see at least crafters needing a lot of IV when more hit 60. And I can materia lotto those into existence because I'm basically buying a turn for 10k.

Got in at 172 as bard or so with 2 other bards and a summoner. Didn't have enough dps to beat the blue / green guys in time. Maybe I'm just in with the wrong group, but its more likely that our problem is 3 bards and a summoner, no matter how good, will never be able to do the damage needed to clear that stringent DPS check.

Yeah, I think you're probably right about the party makeup being the problem there.

I actually ended up selling my weekly goal a little short. A few hours after I posted it, I cleared Bismarck EX (AST globe dropped... I got it). Our party was right around i155 to i165. The dps check is SUPER real but almost more important than that is everyone killing the adds before bum rushing the Corona. You only get a few seconds on the boss at a time and if you're spending 50% of that time dodging line aoes, you're going to have a bad time.

I feel your pain...

Fitting end though :D

Now to spam law..... law... and more law... while also levelling BRD to 60. Which will mean grind, all the last sub quests I've missed, and then... spam law... law and more law...

I doubt I will be able to get that done this week or even next.. RL.... that strange and wonderful thing I have neglected since HW Early Release needs some TLC.

Still the race is on to get LAW!

So since Bismarck just up and died on me... time for new goals!

Gearing: accuracy is going to be a jerk this time around. I'm told I need 579 for Ravana EX as a melee and I'm quite a bit shy of that. I actually missed an armor crush in Neverreap earlier today. I was not amused. So I'm going to focus accuracy on gear to try to get over that threshold and start on Ravana EX progression.

Leveling: working on AST among the new jobs. Currently 37. I think I can reasonably be 45 by the end of the week. As for old jobs, I'd like to get started on either BLM or MNK. Haven't decided. But I want to nail one of them down and make some progress on them.

If I have time this week I'd also like to spend some time figuring out how gathering is supposed to work in HW. What I've seen of it is not terribly intuitive, so I want to spend some time figuring out exactly what I'm supposed to do there.

I've been loving Crafting and Gathering. Though i must admit i'm not making a lot of progress overal. I work 40-50 hours in the week.

Highest fighting class level right now is my PLD at 54, i have to take it into Sohm Al? If that's the name, but i dont know if it's smart. Everyone is spamming AoE's and i dont seem to be able to cope with that on PLD very much. Leveling a DPS from 50 to 54 seems like a lot of work considdering it took me a while for PLD to even get up there, and that was with the help of spending all my quest EXP on him.

My miner is already 55 (but blocked from new area's by story progress), Goldsmith and Blacksmith are getting up there as well. Gonna need new materials from the Churning Mists, but i cant get there right now.

Oh, and i build a Workshop, but as it turns out, you need 4 people to operate it... so i'm kinda screwed i think seeing as my FC has one active member (me) and a hand full of people who log in every few days for an hour.

Yeah, I get the idea behind the FC workshop but the light/full party requirement is silly, but it is supposed to be a 'group' thing. Working on our Enterprise type now.

Finally dinged 60 and finished my PLD quests, now I just need to do the last MSQ mission. Definitely doing that today, because I'm capped at 500 seals and need to be able to use them on something.

Goals for the remainder of this week:

1) Continue using Law tomestones to gear PLD. Sitting at i171 with 4 pieces left to buy, so easily achievable.

2) Ding 60 on my alt job, DRG. I'm 90k xp off lvl 57, so achievable at a stretch.

3) Now that the majority of my raid group is 60, semi decently geared, and caught up on MSQ, take a stab at Bismarck EX on Sunday to get back into raid mode ready for Alexander. This one is dependant on finding a second healer, as one of our usual members hasn't had a lot of play time and is a little behind. Thankfully my RL brother plays and is an i179 WHM XD

All pretty achievable, but PLD is the priority as I want to have the best possible chance when entering Alexander.

Congratulations!

Enjoy the end, its brilliantly done to the point you feel utterly sad that it's over till more updates. Kind of makes me wish there was enough story to last months without the need for updates. I enjoy a story I can go through and not wait to progress.

Plus you better have sound on the last dungeons.. one in particular is my favourite.

7/2/15 update:

Accomplished a lot of things this week. Finding it extremely difficult to fit all the things I need to do each day to keep up. Running all four roulettes (ex and trial on bard, high and low on paladin) and crafting / gathering every single gc turn-in is amazingly time consuming. Plus the fact I fit in a few vault runs on paladin in between, check retainers, and keep up on gold saucer stuff, that is a lot to do every afternoon, but the work pays off I suppose.

lvl 60 bard, ilvl 179
lvl 57 paladin
lvl 57 carpenter
lvl 51 ltw and wvr
lvl 51 miner
lvl 54 botanist

I'm exhausted..

Still incredibly dissappointed that I missed out on all the good Bismark ex groups while I was leveling, so I'm stuck in limbo where no-one good is left to open the gate to ravana farms. 8 or 9 parties, all fails on the dps check. Really easy to tell who is slacking if you go by that threat bar. Normally I wouldn't mind the slacking but when the check is geared so that all four dps need to be 100% on their game, it can make things frustrating when you sit and run the battle over and over with a weak link that doesn't improve, and a party who wont make adjustments.

Loved it! I feel like ARR's storyline kind of rode the nostalgia from Yoshi-P's 1.x story, but the HW story was much, much stronger. I really love how they focused more on developing a handful of characters.

And, already, I'm i152-ish with a shiny new i180 sword and shield set! :) Fortunately, I have the patience and hardware to handle hunts, so I don't think I'll need too long to hit 170+.
