Patch is here! I expect some long answers this go.. What are you up to now that we all feel like fresh adventurers again?

My goals for the weekend and week:

1. Run like a madman to get through as much story as possible, to unlock as much stuff, and get bard to 60 along the way so I can start collecting tomestones of law. Attune to all sky things and aetherytes, map the world. Lvl 50 mobs out there I'm cutting through like butter on my 127 bard, in case anyone was wondering how tough the enemies are. But EVERYTHING aggros.

2. Finish unlocking dark knight and machinist. Unlocked astrologian on accident while getting my bard job quest and I have to say it was very cool. I liked the first instanced astrologian job quest. It was fun!

3. I need to micromanage my inventory. Probably will need to buy 1 more retainer for now. I'm sending mine out to gain levels right now so I can unlock the new retainer ventures (they don't even show up yet, but my weak gatherers can now run XVI long missions so I guess that is good.

4. Bought a workshop this morning first thing for the FC. Was 800k. Going to let someone else buy the card table from golden saucer. Started a bronco hull, contributed all the reagents (you get experience for donating) then was stopped when it required a party of four to craft the thing. Only two were on at the time, so I suppose I'll wait a bit.

5. I need to get rid of all the 110 stuff on all the jobs. You can buy 115 normal quality things in ishgard shops, and get 115 HQ gear from quests. I swapped out several pieces of gear this morning on my monk, dragoon, and healers.

6. When I get a chance, sell off the things I bought for speculation. I don't know that much I bought has spiked, aside from lvl 30 gear I bought for 1k and sold for 14k, and IV materia that I bought for 10k and are now selling for 40k (because mutamix upleveling your 5 x IV materia to a V materia by random chance is the only way you can get a crafting V materia at the moment). I was sad to find that you can't convert high allagan gear to materia, but you can desynth it. Had a max level desynth on ltw, the % chance on a high allagan belt was 45%. Succeeded on one of them, jumped 0.46 points and obtained a few clusers and saurian leather.

Hard to narrow down, there's a lot I want to do, but I'll try to keep it to this week:

1: NIN to 60, start farming Law
2: Finish main story (this can safely spill over into next week if necessary)
3: Spend SOME time gathering to take advantage of start of expansion pricing on crafting materials (or crafted goods depending)
4: Unlock ground aetheric currents as I go. The quest ones may take additional time depending on how hard I have to look for the right quests, but the ground ones should be well within reason.
5: Find time to craft a set of starter gear for the new jobs even if I don't get to start leveling any of them right away.

Everything else has been set aside to make fistfuls of money selling HQ mid-level gear to the newbie jobs.

Seriously I cannot keep up with demand. Prices doubled from Wednesday.

I bought up all the silver and mythril ingots and sold them for double the price, to boot.

Between work and family stuff (my sister is in town for the weekend) I probably won't have much play time this weekend. Once I actually do get a chance to play I'll probably take DRG to 60 doing the story before I even think about leveling anything else, let alone one of the new classes.

Got DRK to 56 so far. It seems interesting but there's definitely something....missing? From it. MP management is pretty nice once you hit the flow, but it seems like it could use a better AoE skill. Flash generates more hate than Unleash, but enhance unleash procing while you pull kind of allows you to "double up" on the hate generation.

So out of the 3 I've played so far, i do enjoy DRK more but I feel PLD+WAR is still the best synergy so far.

I've made over five million gil in profit so far. Having to invest a bit back because I depleted my stock of wind shards, but I'm hoping to make it six million profit by the end of the day.

I'm going to ride this gravy train as long as I can.

Bard at 59. ilvl 143 atm. Maybe its just me, but when I went from 58 to 59 my HP jumped like 1500 points. I'm at 9200 hp now Smiley: eek Really liking where they are taking the game at this point. Almost done unlocking Dravinian Hinterlands for flight. Just need to do my last dungeon, the library. All other areas unlocked for flight, and flight is amazing. I fly through tunnels just to go faster. Quest time is a joke with flight.

Unlocked them all but they all are still at 30. Gonna wait till the hubbub dies down, since Kat corners the market, and I'm seeing bad things about machinist, things that are making me really happy I stuck with bard.

Bought a 5th. An AuRa fisher. Tried out making one for the first time, think I'm going to go for the Xaela when I get my CE items (tomorrow I think).

Everyone is so busy, will probably wait a while longer when we all have less to do. No one is at the house anymore. They are all "on-site". However, it is good to see the folks who weren't as far into endgame get a free pass to the front of the leveling ladder. I like that. Equal Opportunity.

Slowly but surely.

Wyvern and dhalmel skin is in high demand. Tried converting some of the new ilvl 140 gear, got a III materia and a IV materia. Curious as to what drops 5. Played materia lotto about 100 times, no lucky V procs off of mutamix. But I have a ton of nice IV materia I'm hoarding for now.

Other than that, the retainers were supposed to get some new field ventures. Didn't happen. Also, the FC alliances werent implemented this round. Shame.

* Maybe finish my Zeta for easier stuff till i get a new weapon.

* Spam leves to get my DRK up. I like it. I should take it into dungeons.

* Do some crafting for profit. I wanna make an airship.

Work on main storyline.
Level DRG and MNR a bit.
Rake in stupid amounts of gil selling stuff people don't need but will overspend on anyway.
Be disgusted at the person I saw the other day that already has a level 60 DRK. Seriously, go the hell outside.

Without getting into too much detail, Spell Speed has the greater impact compared to Skill Speed, so basically every tier after 550 Spell Speed your HoTs are noticably higher. With the new gear handed out and higher caps, it was pretty much built for the new spell/skill speed changes. Right now it's low because not everyone did the math/paying attention to it yet (no raids so no need to maximize) but early on I pretty much turned my end of 2.55 investment into about 8mil, was hoping for a lot more but it won't really start going up until the min/maxers start going at it for alexander savage.

I had a pretty good time on Friday selling the white-quality i115 weapons that are freely available from Ishgard vendors on the MB for about 150k a pop.

I love expansion day.

Update for me..

I'm at 56 on NIN.. probably be 57 by the end of the day. The week isn't over though! I still have time to get there.

Unlocked all the new jobs, threw AST at a few low level roulettes (aka: Toto-rak roulettes). It made me feel that Lightspeed is the most op thing in the entire world, but maybe at high levels the potency hit matters more? Don't know.. it's great though. Because I've been solely in Toto-rak roulette, I haven't had a chance to hurl a card at someone. Still trying to memorize what each one is so I know where they go when I do finally get to draw something from this enormous card sheath on my hip.

Money gravy train has slowed a lot, but I'm putting my refreshed millions to good use. We're building our airship for the FC and man, the costs of the materials add up fast.

They haven't figured it out on Lamia. I'm still in speculation mode, buying all IV materia at 3.5k-6k each (even spell speed). Gonna keep buying, cause I know what's coming.

Tried to log on to Balmung repeatedly, never made it into the data center. Waenlona in limbo right now.

So I focussed on Verdha. MNK 53 (almost 54) and enjoying all the side quests and every single little piece of dialog, lore, and color. Flying chocobo in Western Coerthas got, spent ages staring at the fascinating thing in chains (and wondering if it will ever be explained), and main story advanced up through Dark Vigil and just about to hit the first Dravinian zone in the MSQ. Having fun with WHM again too (I had two thoroughly enjoyable Aurum Vale runs on roulette, even!), but mostly sticking with MNK as the first to level. I am enjoying the heck out of the storyline, and absolutely delighted to see that one of my favorite characters from 2.x has a nice role and is sympathetic now too. Hope she stays that way. Quest rewards are finally equipping my BLM properly.

Not making gil except incidentally. My business luck means if I bought all the Tier IV materia for 3.5-6k, they'd drop to 300 gil each and stay there for two years. Valk, you can thank me for not bringing bad luck to your market ventures. Smiley: grin

I hit 56 tonight and finish The Aery.

Post Aery Spoilers: That was a spectacular set of cutscenes, and an interesting turn in the story. This is classic Final Fantasy at its finest, here. But I think the best thing is that if you have 50 DRG, Estinien acknowledges you as the second Azure Dragoon just before you go to fight Nidhogg. SEMPAI NOTICED ME!

Estinien wouldn't want my 50 drg doing a thing. I'm more likely to poke out one of my own eyes with my spear.

Finally got on to the data center last night, but the world was full for a long, long time with no signs of opening. So I hopped on Verdha, hit MNK 54 (haven't done the 54 job quest yet), did a lot of quests in Dravanian Forelands and got all the compassed Aether Currents (the last one was fun, reminded me of FFXI Davoi Genkai sneak), and wandered all over the map just to see what was there. The view from that mountain is amazing! Main storyline advanced some more. First retainer at 51, promptly geared up for the i110 ventures.

But Waenlona has a lot of catching up to do next week. Did decide there is clearly zero point to her advancing the relic (at book stage), so that'll save a lot of time and eventually gil. Going to focus on gearing with soldiery and working the storyline towards HW access.

1: Done as of an hour ago.
2: Done. All dungeons unlocked, though as of this posting I'm 1 ilevel shy of being able to actually DO them (grumble grumble)
3: Day 1 was pretty sweet
4: All aetheric currents unlocked, both ground and quest
5: AST gear is good and crafted. Spiritbonding is now basically worthless on my server so I doubt I'll be re-crafting gear as I spiritbond things. But we'll see what happens. Haven't even done the follow-up to the unlock quests for MCH or DRK.
