This quest is initiated by reading the book "The Trials of Sir Morgan". This book is rewarded to you at the end of the Scrawlings in the Dark quest.
- Kill five Scarecrows in the Thundering Steppes (fields south of Antonica zone in).
- Kill 6 sirens in the Thundering Steppes (west coast).
- The third step asks you to kill several mobs, which can be found west of Qeynos Tower #4, under a bridge.
- 6 Revenant Soldiers
- 4 Revenant Scouts
- 1 Revenant Commander - standing on a stone at 240, -13, 277
- Kill two Fallen Giants. They are found in the Valley of the Ancients, which is a small hidden cove in southwest Thundering steppes. 700, 0, 620
- Kill two unbound familiars. These are solo mobs, so it shouldn't be much of a problem. They are found just south of the Ruins of Varsoon near -670, 0, 770 .
- Visit the Ring of Talons 170.3, -7.29, 1080.61 . This is in the water in the circle of spires in front of the gnoll cave directly north of the Shrine of Decay. When you get the update, the ghost of Squire Wimbley spawns. You do NOT have to kill him.
- After you receive this update it will send you to speak to Rikantus at the Evernight Cemetary in Antonica -1975, 9, 823 to complete the quest.

Well, as a Qeynosian Wizard on The Bazaar, it was 2 giants. The unbound familiars however were at:
(-650.84, -4.5, 766.91)
The other waypoint put me in the ocean half way to Nek Forest

Don't know if something changed since I got this quest, or it changed back, but I had to kill 4 Fallen Giants.

Can anyone please tell me if there is a way to get the book back if you accidently deleted it? I am on next to the last part and I have to read more of the book. I can't find it so I am to assume that maybe my grandson deleted it. Please let me know if I can get it back or if I just have to delete the quest altogether. Thank you

Yes, I had to swim to the bottom as well. Wimbley was there, a lvl 28^^^ - I /just/ barely killed him at lvl 32 (paladin) No drops though.. :(

I did this quest, and it was all pretty easy up until the Revenant soldiers and scouts, they are lv 23-25 ^^^'s and not easy, even as a 33 ranger.
The revenant commander is a very tough mob, i just killed him at lv 36 (ranger) and had to try 3 times (he was lv 26).
I found a group of fallen giants, there were 5 in the mob, 4 were single down arrows, one was single up arrow, i found a safe spot, and killed 2 single downs as fast as i could, then evac'd with about 40% health left.
The unbound familiars are very easy, lv 27 single down arrows i think, they hide around the old broken walls around the entrance to RoV.
Sir Wimbly was there when i got the ring of thorns update, but i had to swim around awhile to get the update. I did not un-invis, and dont know if Wimbly was agro or not.
I got like 1g 20s, something like that. I picked the ring, its pretty nice

I just completed the fallen giants step and it was 4 giants for me.

The familiars are near the entrance to the Ruins of Varsoon (TS), not the Tomb of Varsoon (Ant)

I'm on the Fallen Giants step now. The quest, at present, only requires 2 Fallen Giants, not 4.

Squire Wimbley spawned today when I dove in the water at the middle of the location. He is 26^^^ Heroic. As he was grey to me, I left him.

This quest has changed as at 23rd sept 2005.
Fallen giants were a real pain as they are now 26-28 Heroic ^^^ mobs, as a 32 monk i could barely kill the 26th level ones and died twice completing this step. Trying to get a group to go kill these is impossible, have a good guild :)
Once i went to the ring of talons, i swam out into the pool and got an update, but squire wembly did not spawn. Instead i got a journal update and a new step.

After returning to Rikantus in Antonica, the quest giver(i knew that sounded familiar =p) the reward is now.
1 gold 26 silver
The book The Trials of Sir Morgan
and a choice of the two items already stated.
No Sir Wembly but, he appears to be MIA, even had a scout track for him at the Ring of Talons and nothing.

THe first part of killing the scarecrows does not nessicarrly need to be done in the steppes. I kill them in Antonica and it counted =)

Commander pops in alcove by the rock heaps... kill soldiers in there to make him spawn

Revenant Commander is slow pop visited site dozen times killed everything stayed ovr hour not ever pop then running by and he was standing out in front of little unsanctified cubby.

Ok Tesa is confused. She is thinking of the Sir Motte quest which is in the bookcase in Windstalker. Just got Trials of Sir Morgan last night from Riktanus after finishing scrawlings in the dark. It shows up under thundering steppes.

This is no longer given as a reward after finishing Scrawlings in the Dark. It's now found in a bookcase in Windstalker Village. Also, it should be listed in Antonica, not Butcherblock. It also shows up in your Antonica quest list.

The book case in Windstalker village gives "The Legend of Motte" a quest about Sir Edwin Motte.
It does not connect to "The Trials of Sir Morgan," which is given by Rikantus after Scrawlings in the Dark is completed.
I just verified this approximately 5 minutes ago, on a character that had not done either quest previously.

Finished this quest as a level 26 Warden with no real problems. The most annoying of all were the Fallen Giants. Since most were 27^^. Just be patient. There are 2 soloable that wander around. You just have to wait for their respawn.

I received an old book from Rikantus with a short tale of a knight called 'The Trials of Sir Morgan.' I should visit the locations and relive the battles mentioned in the book, they seem to exist in the Thundering Steppes.
I did battle with animated scarecrows within the Thundering Steppes, just as Sir Morgan did.

I have spoken to Rikantus.Visiting the location of the story 'The Trials of Sir Morgan' has led me to do battle and eventually earned me a useless amulet. Rikantus said it was the 'Amulet of Ullkorruuk' and that it belonged to his ancestors.
