On my long journey to uncover the mysterious feeling of Nektulos Forest I have found Nektropos Castle.
This quest, for access to Nektropos Castle, is no longer required but may be completed for experience and to unlock a Nektropos quest. It is initiated by examining a skeleton on the J'Rais Bridge at -258, 5, 222 (the bridge near The Commonlands).
After the quest initiates you must speak to Theeral the Nomad at -306, 0, 179 . He is found just north of the bridge.
Theeral the Nomad will give you the Flesh Bound Tome. You can read this book for information on the next step of your quest.
You must now visit Timber Falls( 501, 27, -1519 ) . This is a waterfall that can be reached by swimming upstream on the river nearby. Swim until you reach the waterfall. The trigger point is on the left hand side of the waterfall, on land.
The next step requires you to reach the top of N'Mar's Ascent. The base of the steps is at -398, 1, -1235 . If you have invisibility and are level 20+ you may be able to invis past everything to reach the top without fighting. The top of the steps/trigger point is at -399, 59, -1296 .
The third step of the quest is to scout Bone Lake. The trigger point for this step is at -866, 141, -2148 .
Once you have scouted Bone Lake you can return to Theeral the Nomad. Theeral will inform you that you now need to kill a dragoon lieutenant in Nektulos, which are confirmed to be at the drawbridge at the Gul`Thex Citadel ( 697, 22, -707 ) .
The last stretch of the quest is to find three monuments near Nektropos Castle in the northeast corner of the zone. All of them are visible if you walk along the moat. Locations are:
-1483, 112, -1988
-1386, 112, -1689
-1586, 112, -1885
Now visit the shrine at -1571, 112, -1991 .
The final step of the quest is to walk up to the doors of the castle then speak to the Herald of Nektropos who will complete the quest.
Very easy quest just gotta be willing to put in the time....all above info is correct...walked through it at lvl 33 gaurdian...no need to fight anything unless you want to...but be wary of the fight bugs in this area...they seem to never fail.
All info above is correct to my knowledge. Many thanks to whoever posted.
Did this a couple of days ago, am lv29. NP for all us Bards with Walk Lightly (Adp1 or better), as I never came accross any who saw through it. Not saying that there isnt, but had an easy time getting past the Patchwork men etc on the way up and passing the mobs around the castle. Will need to drop when talking to guard at the front door to finish quest, then evac out if you dont wish to enter castle, easy!...have fun :)
Completed the quest tonight with my 29 Guardian. Warning, be careful if you're doing this solo when running to the monuments on the last step, especially that last monument. They're surrounded by skeleton mobs and I was dropped by a train of them despite trying to run away with my jboots due to getting stunned and then some of the DoTs that were cast on me. The entire area around the castle is pretty dangerous, but especially near the last monument.
RE: "If you have invisibility and are level 20+ you may be able to invis past everything to reach the top without fighting."
And a Mystic can use Spirit of the Wolf and Run to reach the top, thus running by the surprised guards that react too late to make damage at all *smiles*
I have same problem, i got the quest too early in the game, deleted it, and now i need it and cant get it back, it wont triger quest starter on bridge.
If you are having problems with the last monument. You may be trying to touch the shrine that is in the same area as the monuments. THe shrine is the last monument you touch after the 3 monuments. Find the third monument and then go back to the one that doesn't update as a monument. Hope this helps.
To the people having a problem getting the last ward to update, you probably aren't clicking the right one. In the area around the castle there are actually 4 clickable objects. 3 wards and a shrine. 2 of the wards are easily visible from the castle moat, as is the shrine, but one of the wards is farther back into the woods (I want to say on the southern side of the castle, but it's been a while). In order to find the third ward, hug the outer wall of that area instead of the inner moat, and you will see it lying on the ground surrounded by undead.
1) Book is not needed to complete the quest. 2) The monuments may require a right click to activate, but they do work. 3) When you reach the end to speak to the Herald, be patient here. The Herald may vanish when one player speaks to him, preventing all of your group to speak to him at once. Wait a while, go completely down the bridge and back to the door, and he will eventually spawn again (less than 5 mins).
Cant get last ward to registar also. I read the book and still nothing. It says touch the monument but nothing happens. Anyone else having same problem or found out what to do? Seems bugged after last patch.
I have been trying to finish this quest, but for some reason when I click on the ward monument it will not update my quest. I have the book and have tried every night that i have been on. I have also petitioned and reported a bug, is there anything esle I can do or am I missing something? Anyone have some advice?
Has anyone noticed if each step in this quest requires reading the Flesh Bound Tome? I deleted mine months ago, then they made this quest undeletable so I can't start over if I need the tome..am I screwed out of several Heritage quests now or what? GM's say, "sorry, tough luck"...
Reading the monuments at nek castle wasn't as bad as i thought...I'm a lvl 26 Bezerker and did it. Shrine was easy to read as well. Then waited by small graveyard in front till somebody smoked the patchwork men and then up to hail the herald
Crypt of Betrayal: Spectre of Ire. (quest just says "Spectre") Skelly, spawns in the coves where the other ire's spawn (they're his Place Holders) most commonly seen behind the rotting and diseaed corpses on your way to the tortured essenses. Rumor is that he can spawn in any ire skelly cove, but I have seen him where I mentined many times before.
Ruins of Varsoon: The Creator. (Quest says Lich). Another camp and kill. He spawns in the Clay Golem factory room and the Clay Enchanter Skelly's are his Place Holders.
Nektulos Forest: Vampire Descendant I said it would get fun, and here it goes.... To kill this guy you must have access to Cauldron Hollow in Nek. Be warned, he is a Raid mob (as the whole zone is). Quote: "the instance does not take very long, max an hour if going slowly really... It is just one big room, a large circle of buildings, there is many houses in the circle but only about 6 houses spawn mobs as you go around the circle befor the vampire descendant spawns. 18-20 is doable if they are good players (he means 18-20 people, not levels), at level 30 avg id say not likely but mabey, the mobs are group x3/4 level 32-35 and the resist many types of spells like mez ect, i would not take any players below level 28 in there as they wont be able to hit the higher end mobs. id recommend a fair amount of priests and a level 33 tank at least... Ill post the exact stats as they are to me at 38 once the servers are up..."
"the raid instance for hollow you only need one person in the entire raid with the key to get the entire raid in yes..."
To top it off I hear that's not all. Then you have to get access to Nek Castle for something to actually finish this quest. Also gives ~50k status points.
Level of 20 is not correct, Closer to low mid 20's for first couple parts, then up through mid high 20's for the bone lake trip and the castle itself, unless you can invis.
