Ian Cathlan within Qeynos Harbor has asked me to help him look for his lost heirlooms. He's agreed to reward me for my help with some old armor he'll have refitted for me.
I have recovered Ian's lost journal pages and missing cards. I should return to him.
I have spoken with Ian in Qeynos Harbor.Ian has rewarded me with armor for collecting a few of his lost family's possessions.
Stage 1
My brother, being the ever persistent adventurer that he is, happened to lose an entire suit of spades from the deck of cards we gave him for his birthday. He was out hunting giant kodiaks in Antonica when he lost them. If you could look around them it's probably a good start. And I happened to lose my journal fighting undead knights near the Caltorsis ruins. Had this as an old quest before it was remade. It still had me killing the tormentors so I deleted the quest and went back to Ian for updated version and it worked ok. Much easier than old quest.

Did this quest tonight with my Ranger. It must have been changed in the recent subclass armor update. It was actually easier because instead of having to get the 4 cards from Sabertooth Tormentors, I has to get them from giant kodiaks. I was able to do the whole thing solo at level 20 in under an hour.

I am trying to killsabertooth tormentors. This is the Ian's Forgetful Family(Part 1)
Have killed about 20 groups of sabertooth which include a runecaster. I even killed with a runecaster + sabertooth warlock. Still no sabertooth tormentors spawn. I'm a Guardian lvl 26. What do I done now. continue until tormentors appears or kill Caltorsis Knights first.

Ref. my last comment in not being able to get sabertooth to spawn. I went to the north and killed Caltorsis Knights, 20 in all. Went back to the outside of BB, the sabertooth tormentors and elders were waiting for me. I am now going back to Ian and claim my reward.

Easy, caltrosis knights can be solod but if you want good xp bring a healer with you and hit the heriocs... tormentors are herioc and you will need a group if you want to complete fast, clear out all gnolls next to tents outside bb and they will spawn elders and tormentors, you will have to do this twice to get 4 torms. Reward for me was gloves that had mitigation of 136 and good magical attributes

The way you get the Tormentors to spawn is by clearing all the Sabertooth Gnoll groups around a Sabertooth Tent. It doesn't have to be outside BB; it can be anywhere in Antonica. It has to be Sabertooths and you have to clear all the mobs before the Tormentors and Elders will spawn. If you take too long then the original Sabertooths will spawn again and you have to start all over.

I have read in the bestiary that the tormentors spawn when you clear the sabretooths hanging around a tent outside of BB. Is this the case? I have cleared a grp from by the tent with no spawn. there was another standing close but not by tent. can anyone clarify this?

If you're a Warden, you wear Light Armor, Ian gives a quest for Medium and Heavy Armor. Go to Selwyn Oakheart in South Qeynos for your quests.

The knights can be found around the Ruins of Caltorsis( -1405,-732) east of the Oracle tower.

Just wanted to note that Tormentors don't spawn until you kill the camp of runecasters.
