I defeated a rather large bear in the Thundering Steppes and was impressed by its mighty claws. If I collect more such claws, I could fashion them into a necklace that would aid me greatly in battle.
I've recovered enough of the large bear claws and now I can fashion a choker out of them.I was able to recover ten large bear claws here in the Thundering Steppes and have fashioned them into a choker. When I wear it, I will remember the ferocity of the great bears.

The quest starter is called "large bear claw", and it dropped for me from solo young woodland kodiaks near the western shore.

I did the bears around Qeynos Tower 2 and they ding you each time. The Fashioned Bear Claw Choker is the reward.

I killed 10 small/big bears/kodiaks and got 10 updates.

The Large Bear Claw you are finding is only used to start the quest. Once you've started the quest it automatically updates upon killing bears. The update is rather uncommon. Would say maybe 1 out of 5 bears I would get a quest update. Sometimes better or worse, but 1 out of 5 was the average.
So all those extra Large Bear Claws you find just destory them. Can't give them to anyone else being they're No-Trade.
On a side note, Enraged Bear Cubs count towards this.

Hmmm, I received Large Bear Claws off different spawns, including a Weald Wolf, but when I examine the Large Bear Claw to add it to my collection, it gives me the option to add it, but then the text says that I am sure I can find a bigger claw for my collection. It said this about 2 Claws I found... anyone else getting this?

The bear claws dropped from the antelope will trigger this quest. You cannot use them to complete the quest.

I have gotten bear claws extremely rarely from young antelopes as well.

For the amt of time this quest took I was very disappointed. The stats are not compairable to anything bought, and it was replaced very quickly by other easier items

This gives a decent necklace with some good stats......Ill get a picture if i can.
