This is the quest for the Screaming Mace. The quest is initiated by examining an "Ill Fated Cleric Journal". This item is a drop from Agony, a wraith in The Feerrott, at -1860,-22,639 . He is by the lake near the entrance to The Temple of Cazic-Thule.
- You must first kill 40 random lizardman in Cazic-Thule.
- You must then kill four named spawns in the zone. They are:
- Kaxor the Cenobite - On top of either of the two temples on the sides of Venekor.
- Hukulan the Despoiler - Up top before the pyramids between the stone wall partitions (placeholders are the static groups of lizards between the stone walls just up the central staircase (-49, 24, -25)
- Tzugaax the Torturer - Downstairs in the Torturer Area (63.85, 0, 2.31) or (59,0, 34) or (-45, 0, 5) or (-38, 0, 1)
- Xilarga The Tae Ew Champion - On the western little pyramid. (47, 40, -109)
- You are then instructed to find the Fountain of Fear. This is the waterfall from the back of the large temple in Cazic-Thule. (6, 27, -230)
- Once you complete this step a one hour timer starts. You have one hour to find the Basin of Ba'Kur in Cazic-Thule. This is at (61, 0.0, -6). To get there you enter the tunnels, and after passing the rooms with the glare lords, turn to the left. The room after the thulian fiend is the basin.
- You must then kill Thulian Terrorfiends in Cazic-Thule until you obtain a key. This is an uncommon auto-updating piece.
- After finding the key you must kill Gorfuzod the Keeper to obtain your mace. He is in a special instanced version of The Sanctum of Fear, called The Chamber of the Keeper.
- Once inside you will find a small room with four totems. You can right click to activate these. When they activate either Harbingers of Fear will spawn, or the Keeper.
- Stand in the middle with at least one player watching each totem. Use the Congealed Blood Sphere you got from the Basin of Ba'Kur and one of the totems will highlight briefly. THAT is the correct totem.
- After killing the Keeper the mace will spawn above the table in the back!

I obtained a very old journal from a creature in the Feerrott. It appears to be the journal of an explorer or pilgrim that was seeking a mace within the Temple of Cazic-Thule. The Screaming Mace may very well still be inside the temple. A scrap of old paper tucked in the journal described the steps to enter the chamber where the mace is kept.
I have the blood from the Four.
I have a flask of water from the Fountain of Fear.
I poured the blood and water into the Basin of Bara'Kur and made a Blood Sphere.
I defeated a Thulian terrorfiend and took its key.
I defeated the Keeper of the mace!
I took possession of the Screaming Mace.I have recovered the Screaming Mace! After performing the Ritual of Blood, I destroyed the Keeper of the mace and took it from its ancient resting place.

Well, so far, 18 hours and not one Champion. Many Cenos, seems all other nameds are easy pops, just the Champ here doesn't want to spawn. Still clearing little temple. :)

I can confirm that Ceno did spawn on the left (east) pyramid. Took 2 nights and 8 hours, but he did spawn... and then I promptly killed him.

I can assure you Gooficus that if looking at the big Pyramid in front of you, the small pyramid to your left is where the Champion spawns, to your right is the Cenobite. I have seen both of them several times since LU16 just keep clearing the MoBs up top and eventually he will spawn. I have sen him 3 times in one day up there.

15 hours camping "little pyramid" across from ceno...not one spawn...everyone here seems sure this is his spawn point for the champion, but I have yet to see him. I have seen the ceno many times, matter of fact I have all nameds done cept for this dang mob...and killed some of them many times. This is a ridiculous spawn, I will see if this really is his spawn point, and if so, will give you total time spent there.

Its not that the champion can spawn on the smaller temple, but its that it is his only spawn point now. You dont need to go to the big temple to try and spawn him anymore. Also, they have made agony an easier spawn now it seems. The other day i killed him 8 times total.

This is going to make people mad but the Champion can spawn in the Cenobite's location...now the part you will hate me for, we spawned him 5 times in a row last night at that location. But don't worry I've paid my dues. Took me days to get him when I actually needed him.

Received 72,750 status at level 60 for completeing this. Also had the torturer spawn after clearing both rooms he spawns in about 5 times, got key from terrorfiend on first kill and solo'd instance easily as a 60 Inquisitor.

I noticed that the spawn rate has increased a lot. Despoiler and Champion was 3-4 hour session a piece. Went in the night #16 was applied got the Torture and Cenobite in about a 2-3 hour period. But have to get the key now and from the sounds of it this has not changed, looks like a 4-5 hour camping period for me tonight....

Brady is right we got champion on the western little pyramid. Wasted 3 hrs on big pyramid before some kind ppl let us in on new location.

I can confirm Brady's comment that the champion spawns opposite the cenobite mob. We also had some of us clearing the big pyramid just in case but nothing spawned there in the entire time camping. It should be noted despite LU#16 update it still took a 3 hour camp to spawn the champion

Champion spawn point has changed. He is not around big pyramid anymore. We got him today opposite the cenobite mob. So both mobs are on the mini pyramids. Or they were for us.

They have revised the spawn rates of named mobs for heritage quests.
The Torturer is practically commonplace by the old sandards. He showed twice in an hour last night and people are saying that they have not had to wait more than 2-3 hours max.
On a side note getting the Key from the Fright-Fiends is just as slow and painfull as ever.

I couldn't find it explicitly stated, so I shall do so. Hukulan the Despoiler's placeholders are the static groups of lizards between the stone walls just up the central staircase. He spawned at level 44 for me.

The basin is NOT in that far - you do not turn left after the terror fiend. You take the second left, go through the first terror fiend room, into the next room you come to. The basin is in the room where you first see the torturers - a basin in the middle with a small pool on either side. Right clicking the water IN the basin and selecting "pour the water and blood into the basin" will give you your update. Notes: The basin itself does not highlight, only the liquid in it. The loc listed will take you to the room - but NOT to the basin.

Tt the terrorfiends update you receive a Congealed Blood Sphere. Examining it in the final chamber reveals the correct idol to spawn the Keeper.

been camping torchurer now for over 2 months , im 53 , this is a wiast of time , ive tried on numerous occassions for 4-6 hours at a time , im thinking , which will come 1st lvl 60 xmas or the torchurer , my bet is lvl 60

Noticed this trend with a few of the named on this quest. Clear all the mobs on one of the sides and it usually pops. We camped it before staying in just the basin room and never seen it but clear out the 2 nearby rooms (turn north from the hall to the east in our case on the west side) and he popped for us first respawn it hapened this way on 2 of the other named up top too. (Clear 1 side) Hope that helps.

The torturer is by far the worst. I admit I am a casual player, but I have been in about 2 dozen groups and camped him for about 2 months or 10 levels and have not yet even seen him.

Personally, I think this whole quest is bugged! I have been camping the Torturer for nearly 3 months now. Usually, 3-4 times a week for about 3 hours at a time. On a couple of occasions I did a 12 and 7 hour marathon hoping to pop this guy. He simply will not show his face to me!

the screaming mace is a great weapon, but i wouldnt even attempt the quest if you cannot use the item, there are easier heritage quests out there that can still bring nice status points.
i spent about 12-15 hours camping the rare mobs for the quest, the torturer was especially a pain, i would not see him for weeks and then one day he would be up 3 times in a row! this is one of the most frustrating quests ive done in a while. But, i think it was worth it, especially when ever im in a group and people ohh and ahh over it. if your a class that can use the screaming mace and the bone bladed claymore, i would skip the claymore and get this weapon (the regular one, not the electrfied i mean)just look at the stats for both of them!

finally finished this one! Killed the keeper twice (once for me and second to help out some others) BOTH times he spawned by clicking on the totem in the northwest side of the room. If you can kill the terrorfiends and all the other slugs in the way, you won't have a problem with the Keeper.

We camped cenobite on 2 different occassions. Made sure that both temples were lizard free both on top, stairs and interior. 1st time popped about an hour 2nd time bout 30 min.
