The Invasion of the Vale  

This is a ring event. You must kill the Black Magi in the white robes on the out side of the stone circle then the Magi on the inside become attackable. They are the ones in the Red robes. Once all the Maji are killed you may then kill the 3 Portal guys. They will spawn one at a time after the other is dead. None of them were more then ^ Heroic lvl 20 for me but I was gray to this quest.

I must not be the brightest gnome in the box... this one took me awhile to complete...

KK, you zone in, there are a few single and alot of double linked mobs, even a couple of triples. All of them are Ogre types. The doubles and triples are Ogre types with 1 or 2 dogs. All are tough. (I don't have their levels or I'd give it to you - they were all green and blue cons to me at 21 & 22) I didn't "notice" any heroics or ^ but they were pretty mean mobs.

I cleared a path to the druid ring.
Outside the druid ring is a ring of caster mobs - green con with agro. I had to kill all the way around the outside of the ring. (about 6 of them, I think)

Once I killed all the ones on the outside - the blue con casters inside the ring became agro. I had to kill them all the way around the inside of the ring (4 of them, I think)

Once both rings of casters are dead, the whirlwind became targetable and then transformed into the first Abomonation. Heroic, level 20 with 1 ^
I killed it. The next mob spawned in the same spot - Heroic, level 20 with 1 ^
I killed it. The last mob spawned in the same spot - Heroic, level 20 with 1 ^

All three mobs spawned inside the whirlwind - and spawned sequentially. They did not agro until I attacked.

The casters around the ring did not respawn - I don't think they had time.
The pathers and static guys around the valley, did respawn - I think about a 20 minute respawn timer.

I did this solo, Fury, started at level 21 and killed the names at level 22.
At some point (prolly after the 4th or 5th kill) I got a message that a lockout timer of 4 hours had been set... But I never tested it.

Shadowrick is wrong.

I have just zoned in and out of that accursed place 5 times trying to get the second of the 3 to spawn and its obvious u dont have a lockout regardless of killing names.

A little hint: you only have to be locked out twice to finish this quest. On your second visit, if you get the same named as on your first trip, don't kill it and just leave... you won't be locked out and you can come right back in to try again. Do this again on your third trip until you've gotten the last named you need to spawn.

You need indeed as people mentioned already kill this place several times. After 4 times doing this place I had all 3 mobs required for the quest. It is a bit of luck there you never know which mob will be summoned after killing the black magi.

There is no point of hanging around after you killed the summoned mob, you just need to leave the place and come back after the place has been resetted (4hours waiting time)

I kill 2 of 3 mob.
but i can't find the third mob.
i'm go back many time.
still apeared portal and portal atrocity.
I don't see adhorrentportal abomination.
Could anyone can help me.

ok well i am able to kill 2 of them by killing one then going back in...but it seems it keeps cycleing the same 2 and i never seem to get the Abomination. Any suggestions?

I just got the quest killed the giant tree which was the abomination. Got the chest and a pair of gloves. Looks like we have to kill one leave and come back two more times to complete the quest

i had to go into first person and also kneel on top of the chest in order to get it when it dropped in the middle of the dust tornado thingy.

The quest was completed as soon as you entered the vale if I'm not mistaken. Also had the chest bug, and I got no loot of any value from anything else. Quest kinda sucks, but the mob at the end was kinda cool. Also nice to know deep down that I screwed over some Black Magi that were playing with a druid ring =)

Ok I will retract that as I can see it depends on where you come up the road. I came from the opsite direction from the windwalker village and so the other messenger was south of me.

Before u can examine giantslayer messenger you must kill 2 wolfs standing near him otherwise the body is inactive.
