I've killed over 250 random mobs (mostly sentient for the BBC-HQ quest) and still no sign of the "Sword of Thunder". How many kills (approx) does it take usually to find it?

confirmed chest drop on a grey. Ive probably killed close to 1k of these buggers. Finally got mine below the watcher of the horde area where the torture stuff is

My character is Sonnuvah -- Berzerker. I've killed the 100 skely's and can't get the sword to update to kill the names. I've killed nearly the full 1000 sentient beings for the Hq that coincides with this quest Bone Bladed Claymore.
Please update my Quest as complete as all mobs are gray anyways to me. My concern is if you only update the next step, I'll be back here for you to update the step after.

k did i do something wrong? i have a bone bladed claymore and an berik sword of thunder...but what i want is an electrified bone bladed claymore...I am a guardian wanting my mythical stuff.

IMPORTANT: this is mentioned other places but don't miss this. When you accept the quest the quest-text box opens behind the quest-accept box but you MUST READ THE TEXT FIRST. If necessary move the quest-accept box. If you do it in the right order you will get a second Sword of Thunder which you must have to advance the quest. If you do this in the wrong order you will kill 100 things in Stormhold and then find out that you cannot advance the quest and must delete the quest and then accept it correctly and then kill another 100 mobs.
PS. don't know if it helped but I used the 'stand on the bed' method and it took about an hour to spawn Alexandria and the spawn was right next to the bed.

This is actually a multiple bug. As with some other quests, this one doesn't correctly delete items no longer needed. This is how you get two swords. The "first" sword is used to start the quest, and is simply called "Sword of Thunder". If you go through the entire dialog, you then receive "Berik, Sword of Thunder" as well, the game doesn't tell you that you received it, and it doesn't simply replace the first one, like it would it most quests. This is probably what has caused some people confusion too, since, in my case, the second one appeared in a section of my inventory that I thought I had filled entirely. I didn't notice it appear. Krutoi obviously didn't have open spots any place other than next to the old one, so it looked like he suddenly had two of them. Lucky for him he probably gave his guild member the old one.

well the info about the quest getting bugged by not listening to the entire dialog in the beginning seems to be true... mine got bugged (couldn't go on after killing 100 knights), so I deleted the quest and started over. Second time around no bugs. One interesting thing - when I deleted the quest and later logged out, when I logged in again I had an extra sword! Gave it to a guild member, and kept the other for finishing the quest...
sorry for double post, but edit doesnt seem to work properly here in these forums, but forgot to add, that you must read the entire dialog, THEN accept the quest for it to work properly.
Had the same problem, fixed the same way. If you accept the quest first (from displayed window, asking you to accept or decline quest), then read the dialog, the quest will not work. You will have to delete the quest and start over. And, yes, it gives you two swords...dont know why, but it does. And, per two the gm that responded to my petition (he prob read it here)this is the proper technique. He didnt say if a fixe was planned. But quest is now completed /smile

I cant find berik, i am needing to talk to him to continue but have not found him can someone give me an area and/or Loc.
Your information is bad a best, I have this quest, after killing 100 skeles, it prompts me to speak to berik again and wont allow me to proceed further..also cant find the mobs in sh to kill ...the way is blocked by lvl 20 heroic ^^^ multiple times .../sad ...better to do firemyst die less
Unless there was a change to this quest very recently the information is correct and your doing something wrong / missing something, or your bugged.

If you don't finish the dialog before you accept the quest sometimes the quest can become bugged.

oh my god this is rediculous.... I have been trying for months and can't get Alexandria to spawn.....tried the bed trick and everything and only get the guy battlepriest to spawn...HELP!!!

Ok, dunno if it is an urban legend or it works but stood on the bad the last 3 respawns and it worked.

Ok, spent 3 hours last night tryin to spawn her and only got the guy Battlepriest or more torrents....I have tried all of the weird locations of standing in the room and only got the previous two to spawn. any ideas anyone?

Just bought the Sword Of Thunder today after bout 2 hrs of tryin to get it to drop and it was only 12 gp. Not bad from what I've seen from previous posts =)

I contacted support yesterday to determine any restrictions on this quest and sure enough, it IS class specific. Obviously, I will be sending in a suggestion to development to change that because I want the electrified BBCC hanging on my wall.

For the Blacksmith, Priestess and Lord spawns, they spawns in chains. Basically they can never be all up at the same time.
The Blacksmith has NO placeholder, he ll usually be the first one up, once you killed it, go to Alexandria room, kill both skeletons PH and wait, she WILL spawn next respawn, then go to Lord Byron room kill the skeletons PH and wait he WILL spawn next respawn! No waiting, no camping, you can have all three of them in like 30 min.

This is a lie. It's not true, because Alexandria NEVER popped and Byron popped right after the Blacksmith for me. I think they're not timers, and Alexandria has the longest one.
And I can't imagine that standing in different parts of the room does anything, but I guess it's worth a shot. I'm getting desperate.

After quite a bit of research and experimentation of my own, I have finally almost completed this quest. Blacksmith Brigg is no problem, he's either there or he's not and I think he spawns hourly. On step two, I killed the wandering PH and waited. Alexandria finally spawned for me when I discovered that if you wait in the far corner of the far right room nothing spawns at all, if you wait in front of the bed the Torrent comes back and if you wait on the bed Alexandria will spawn. I'm now off to try a new method of spawning Byron, someone told me if you kill the PH by the Quartermaster and then go to the dining room off the chessboard and mess with the globe then Byron will spawn shortly thereafter. I'll update this with the results as soon as I try it, unless someone else has verified it first.

Has anyone ever been able to verify as to whether or not this quest is class restricted? Kinda thinking that would suck considering the reward can be used in conjunction with another reward from a HQ...

I'm a level 55 Warden who bought the Sword of Thunder off the broker. When examining it, all it tells me is to either Throw it back or give to someone else. I CAN use a sword, and the reward lists Warden as one of the classes that can use it, why won't it give me the quest?

I play on the Bazaar and I need help...whats the usual spawn time for Lord Byron... I got this quest at like 23...I am now a level 38 pally and still havent finished and I check in on him everytime I play and wait like an hour... If anyone knows how long you have to wait for lord byron please send me a tell when I am on or send a message to me and ill get it the next time im on

Hey, working on this on an alt, was wondering if there's a respawn timer for these guys, cause I need to do this so i can do my BBC updates. Sigh, I hate the killing part, so annoying. Anyways, thanks, respawn timers or place holders would be great.

I am not sure if it is luck, but when you have cleared the room where Battlepriest Alexandria is supposed to be, and she hasn't popped, and there hasn't been a skeleton around for a while, go to the room in the far right corner.

Not sure if I just got lucky, but after spending around 4 hours trying to get Battlepriest Alexandria to spawn, with no success, I gave up. Later the same day I came back and spent another couple hours grinding through the defiled torrents hoping Alexandria would spawn when I decided to wait in the corner alcove to the right and farthest away from the door. After clearing the room, I waited, and within 10 minutes or so, Alexandria popped. I was so shocked, that we died, but returned with re-enforcements and took her down.
Again I'm not sure if this was just pure luck, or what. Give it a try. Wait inside the alcove to the right, and fathest from the door. That room may be a trigger point for Battlepriest Alexandria.

Wish I'd have known, spent two days and atleast 5 hours camping on byron... nevermnd, now started on alexandria. I have been camping for over two hours, still not had her spawn...

A sword I found seems to have some level of intelligence. It claims to be Berik, a former Knight of Thunder who devoted himself to the eradication of undead. It certainly seems unhappy with its current plight.

- Kill 100 Knights.
- Any skeleton in Stormhold will do. After killing them you need to inspect the sword.
- Kill 3 named bosses in Stormhold:
- Blacksmith Brigg, who forged him, at -138, -1, -46
- Battlepriest Alexandria, who blessed him, at -49, -24, -74
- Defiled Lord Byron, who gave the order to forge him, at -45, 9, -40
- Inspect the sword, again, and your done.
Guardians: If you hope to one day complete your Epic Weapon Quest and receive Vel'Arek, you MUST do this quest as the Electrified Bone Bladed Claymore is one of the items required by the quest!
