The bloated soul leeches don't give me quest updates (and also no notice that there's no update), so I think it must be a different mob.

I found Soul leeches in the river between J'Rais Bridge and back side of the island where Behemonth Pond is. They are interspersed with Nek feeders, possible on same spawn cycle and were between level 21 and 23. Finished the quest yesterday after stubbling across them while going for a swim

Deep within the ancient forest of Nektulos the soul leech finds its victims, extracting bits of their souls. Such fiendish creatures are used in numerous dark potions and spells by the mages of Neriak, due to the souls that they feed off.

Stage 1

Laexae K'Oziana, a member of The Spurned, requires me to hunt soul leeches in Nektulos forest.

Start:	I need to hunt the soul leeches of Nektulos.
Complete:	I hunted enough soul leeches.

I obtained many deceased soul leeches for use in spells and potions.

I obtained many soul leeches for The Spurned's use, and the good of Neriak.
