I have chosen to pay my respects to the fallen centaur Chiefs of the past. The Watcher of the Fields has instructed me on the customs of his people, so now I must create an offering worthy of the former leader's life.
I have created a crude breastplate lined with seven fur pelts to represent the chief's seven foals.
I've presented the offering before the flag marker of Kuranam of the Seven Foals.I have honored Kuranam of the Seven Foals, the former chieftain of the Great Herd. The spirit of the great Chief blessed me and changed my offering into a valuable relic.
Stage 1

This quest is initiated by the Watcher of the Fields in the Thundering Steppes (1360, -0.5, 255). This is one of several quests from the Watcher, see related quests for information on his others. The steps are:
- -Kill beetles in TS until you collect 2 hardened carapaces
- -Kill highland lion cubs until you collect 7 large pelts
- -Kill 18 Shallows Fish in the Thundering Steppes (just off the docks)

Plenty of shallows fish that count out by the shipwrecks west of siren temple and the Watcher.

Just did the lion cubs.. only the solo lvl 21 cubs dinged for me... best spawn just past the flock of griffons and deathclaws in Thundermist Valley

You have to kill 18 "a shallow fish". Great place is at the docks in TS.

Bluerose is correct you must kill seven "a shallows fish" about level 20-22. They have a decent respawn rate at the TS docks

I was wrong it is kill there is a fish named that. You have to kill 18 of them.

It is not Kill 18 Shallow fish it is harvest 18 Shallow fish. You need to be at 90 skill level to harvest the fish so be sure that you are up that high. Good luck

2 lion cubs near tower 3 dinged the quests. A couple were even the cubs with a mother. You don't get a ding for every cub, had to go through close to 15 before that portion of quest was finished.

I think that only cubs within Thundermist Valley will count and not all of them. I don't think any cub I killed near Tower 3 counted.

having lots of trouble with lion cubs i have killed a dozen or so highland cub with no pelts rest of the quests seem to be ok

The fish are also plentiful right off the beach by the watcher - just be careful of sirens, other fish and octopi. Some are in groups of 4/5 or so.

This does not require fishing skill. The "shallow water fish" the quest text alludes to are actually mobs called "A Shallows Fish" and may be found off the docks.
