Respawn Timer: thirty-five hours after being killed. There is a delay for between five and fourteen hours before it will spawn for the first time on zone or server up.
Edit: Grand total of 59 hours, his spawn did not line up with the random skeletons/bears spawn that would path the cave, as they spawned/died 2 hours prior to Lich spawning
I am clueless to what his timer is, nothing makes any sense. DB broke something when they patched it back in February 2021.
Assisted guild member in killing Miragul Friday morning and got the timer. Waited 34 hours and sat there for the last hour to be ready for the kill. The 35 hour mark came up and no spawn, waited another 8 hours past that - no spawn. Had someone sit there from when I went to bed to when I woke up - no spawn. Going on 52 hours and no spawn. So the 35 hour timer is BS.
A large guild just popped a pick of Everfrost. Picked over went to cave. No Miragul. I have always got him in Everfrost picks on these TLPs, confirmed no longer spawns in picks. Thanks devs for making it insanely harder to see spawned AND the "changes" for epics made 4 months ago are not accurate.
Have sent a ticket and bug report to CSRs. Doubt I'll get anything back, like usual.

Recently recovered my old account and am now running 2 toons at the same time. Reconnecting on the game with my sister as well. It’s been great being back.
Dusted off my old Pally with half of her 1.0 done and literally was looking at this thread this week to try and catch Miragul faster.
Thank you for the update. I can’t believe you posted this the same day I was looking for it. It has reinvigorated me to keep completing all these things I wanted to do nearly 20 years ago!
So.. , getting this guy to spawn. I highly recommend the easy way. If an LDON raid goes to Miragul's Menagerie, the odds are very high a pick will spawn (Everfrost needs about 50 for a pick pop). The Lich will be up on pick pop. He will be roaming in the caves, usually in the back and usually going into the big room with his 2 million hp assistant. Don't aggro the assistant if you can avoid it. His aggro radius is pretty small. Second.. There are 5 static Ice Bone spawns in the caves. They have nothing to do with Miragul. There are two roaming ice bone spawns in the caves. These are both definitely related to the Glacier Bear spawn and I believe they also have nothing to do with Miragul. Although when the Lich pops, he does follow the 2 cave roamers pathing. There are what I believe to be 4 ice bone spawns out in the tundra. Two in northern area, pathing near the LDON camp and you can occasionally see them on track with a high level tracker in the caves. But, there are also two ice bone spawns in the southern area which you will NOT see unless you have a high level tracker at least in the middle of the map (south of the Y fork in the frozen river). Those two pops, interestingly enough, often spawn near Miragul's Menagerie and path all the way north and south all over the place. I think those are Miragul's PH's (but it's just my feeling after spending a week trying to figure this out). I suspect that if you can force a Miragul pop, that forcing a pop has more to do with keeping them alive than killing them. This is because all the ice bones in the tundra area will get eaten by mobs in area (they aggro on anything non nature) as they're only level 12-15. Good luck.
I have been using a tracker to kill the IBS'. Unfortunately I have discovered that one roamer is spawning outside the cave complex, and out near the wayfarer camp. This means swimming to a hole in the ice before proceeding to find him.
I was waiting and checking a few times a day, waiting for the Lich to spawn. (I used a alt bard parked in the area with track.) Yes, there are 7 Ice Boned Skeletons in total that can spawn in the area. 2 outside the one structure; 3 inside the other structure; and two that roam and spawn every 6ish hours. Well the Lich finally spawned and all 7 ice boned skeletons were up. The Lich didn't attack me; no need to calm it or other stuff; just give him the item and Miragul will spawn. Attack and loot!
I camped this around the clock for 5 days, and can confirm that it spawns from 2 possible PHers in the ice caves.
The two PHers are the only two roaming mobs in the caves - the same ones indicated by Booshd in his post. I did time them exactly for the first day. They have a variable spawn time between 6 and 7 hours.
I bound a wiz inside the caves and after the first day, only ported in once every 7 hours to kill the spawns. On the 5th day, Lich of Miragul was up in place of one of the PHers. You no longer need to use paci of any kind - lich is unattackable. Just run up to him and turn in the phylactery and Miragul will spawn.
I also used a druid to track and killed the other static mobs in a specific order so I could tell if anyone else had killed mobs in the cave when I look at the order on tracking.
80 Paladin 1500 AA's. Server down 19JUNE2013 6AM. Had my druids parked in the center room of the caves at the small building with the two static Ice Bone Skellies (IBS). Killed the two pathing, possible PH IBS's randomly whenever I decided to check on him, roughly 6 times a day. Did this for 6 days from server up time. I even mapped and pathed both IBS's. One has a short walk on the west side of the caves. The other, Lich's PH from my experience, has a very long walk around the eastern caves. Even walks into a dead end, pauses, goes through the wall north/south to the adjacent cave, and continues walking. At about 6 days 10 hours and 30 min or so of server uptime I log on druid to find Lich of Miragul, with no pet, up on track. He was second from top of the list due to an SK having recently been through doing his epic ornament quest. Lucky me he didn't run into Lich eh? Four static IBS's being under him, another static being top of the list. I had killed the wandering PH IBS's about 4 hours before that time.
I brought over the pally, tried pacify "Your spell did not take hold" Tried all other lull line spells, same message. Logged on Enchanter on other account. Could not mez, charm or lull either, same message as before. Lich conned ready to attack to all characters, but I was tired of waiting. Walked up to him on pally, hailed a couple times to stop him or w/e, no response, no pause in his walk. Turned in Phylactery spawned Miragul, killed quickly looted robes and head. Some parchment dropped.
What I have learned from this experience.....This mob is jacked up, a pain beyond belief. He is NOT a 7 day spawn timer, that is clearly a misconception construed from his long spawn timer (I never spent enough time there to actually time this, I apologize, but it is roughly 3 hours) and his rarity. All this including the fact that I was NOT there for any period of time longer than 10 minutes. Leaving the IBS's and Lich available for anyone to kill during my wait, especially taking into consideration the recent epic ornament popularity which requires a step on his path. He DOES have a PH, I took this as a fact from the start. I am aware of very few 7 day spawn mobs (none with such small value) and based off the previous posts about the GM's response to his petition stating that the Lich DOES in fact have a PH. Thanks for that info btw, GM's never give that kinda stuff out in my 13 years of experience.
Good luck to all others attempting this, this IS THE bottleneck. But stay strong, and keep looking. He will spawn.
I have been camping this guy for a little over a week, and I am thoroughly frustrated with the confusion about how often he spawns, and whether or not he has a PH. The first thing i did was consult this page for guidance, and most everything here lists him on a 7 day spawn timer with no PH. So i decided to put a ticket in and see what a GM would say about it. Here is some dialogue from the petition e-mail.
"Greetings, I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues getting the Lich of Miragul to spawn. This NPC is spawning normally, regrettably I am unable to give you any information regarding an NPCs spawn times. Please know that this NPC does have a place holder, so you may need to speak with your fellow players to find which place holders you will need to kill in order to get this NPC to spawn."
To which I replied....
"I have consulted many other players in-game about this particular mob, as well as many forums and websites that are authorities on all things EQ. Everyone tells me that he is a 7 day spawn timer and that he has no PH. There are only about 9 mobs ever in the area and 7 of them are static and do not change. The other few roamers are on longer spawn timers and also don't change. The best and only advice I've been given is to wait till after 7 days or a server reset because he is most likely immediately killed after a reset and will not spawn again till the next week after another reset."
and I got..
"Thank you for your patience in this matter. I am able to see the Lich of Miragul being killed on your server recently. With that said, it does seem like the spawn is working just fine. I wish you the best of luck hunting this NPC."

Seems a bit ridiculous to me, These days players can do most of their 1.0's rather quickly due to trivial content, but with so many paladins on the server all backed up waiting in line to get one NPC that's on a 7 day timer, you can expect to either never get it done, or camp in that cave for days on end, too scared to leave for other game content for fear that he'll get snatched up.
- Mob spawned 7 days from patch (14 Feb, killed 21st 2013) - I made a ranger and was able to track the whole cave at lvl 12 with tracking skill of 60. - do no NOT use high level calm spell like Reconcile to him, he stays KOS. Pacify instead, it changes him into indifferent. - no need to talk to him, just give the Phylactery. - he didn't attack after getting the Phylactery, but conned dubious and started buffing himself. - Our little chat:
-Hail, Miragul! (now in Erudite form) - Leave me be, worm! I have important matters to attend to! - What matters? - I can see the citizens of Norrath have grown quite stupid in my absence. What part of 'leave me be' did you not understand?
I camped the Lich for the past week with no luck. I started immediately after the patch on 5/14 and did not see him. I can't tell you how sick I am of ice bone skellies (IBS). Yesterday I petetioned a GM regarding my concern that the Lich was not spawning and received the news that the last kill was 4/28 and this was a "Bug". I hope they correct the "Bug" soon because this was the most frustrating experience I have ever had since returning to EQ after a seven year break. Now the good news....
I signed on this morning and immeditaly cast Sense the Dead, ugghh ice bone skeleton. I walked past a wandering IBS and went to the northeast cave with the three IBS inside the building. Killed each and walked out of cave westward. Approximately 5032.85,-4462.64 the Lich and his pet appear. I pacify but he does not stop, I pacify again and nothing. Hail nothing. I continue this and start to become very nervous as he is walking toward Sulon McMoor. Suddenly he stops in the cave with Sulon lookin on. I pacify, do the turn in and begin my battle.
I never got below 76% with the help of my merc. The only add during the fight was an IBS. The fight took a good five minutes but I am happy to say that I have the robe and head for my Epic 1.0 turn-in.
Maverrick thanks for sending tells to check on me as my Epic 1.0 became less and less enjoyable.
Killed him today (Sept. 5th 2007) on Cazic-Thule. I charmed the Lich of Miragul with my 71 Enchanter. Did turn in and the Miragul spawned immediately. I killed him with no problem at all, very easy kill. Looted the robe and head, YAY!!!!

Couple interesting notes for the FYI department
1. Can confirm that the lich was pacified for turn-in,.... pacify intially to get close to him....pacify-->AGAIN...to ensure he remains "indifferent"
1.a, Don't fart around, have item ready for turn in (pacify is short in duration, maybe 10 secs with a 265 Charisma)
2. Had my SK camped there for a couple days, even after a recent patch...hit nothing with a full run thru of caves and constant casting of Sense the Dead (logged the SK) ....ran my Pally there to bind at the Wayfarers camp and had a hit immediately !!! (so maybe a Pally needs to be in the area for spawn???....just thought that was interesting, maybe some1 can confirm that?)
Lich was up, did turn in, Miragul taken down at 7:34pm EST 9/13/06. The Rathe Server.

I used a level 17 Ranger parked at the south wall of the center round cave, with 2 skeletons spawns, and was able to track the Lich and pet on all of it's pathing from this location.

Handed in Miragul's Phylactery to The Lich of Miragul and killed Miragul today at 3:45 PM EST on April 19, 2006 on the Cazic Thule server. This means he will be up around 4 PM April 26, 2006. Happy hunting all.
Miragul was killed on Quellious at roughly 1:20PM on Wednesday, October 19, 2005. Basically dropped by 70 Ranger and 70 Beastlord, though either could have soloed him. 55 Enchanter charmed the lich.
The Lich is a pally quest mob. We must give him back his soul from the Phylactery that we get from another quest. We have enough trouble getting the book of scales cause peeps keep killing the dragons. It has taken me 8 months to get to this point and some guy decides to kill this skellie while I am waiting for an enchanter to get to the cave. PLease DO NOT KILL THIS GUY... The pally epic is hard enough... Back to camping for another 7 days or 7 months if depends on if these peeps with nothing else to do will leave him alone.
