With the arrival of so many new faces, Ping Ventur has been inspired to invent a new look for the Village of Shin. While he leans towards creating new clothes from cloth, he's intrigued by the possibilities of working with leather. My skills are, shall we say, tailor-made to help him with this decision.
Stage 1
Ping Ventur is unsure if he should continue outfitting the Village of Shin in cloth, as he's seen some of the leather clothing options on many of the outsiders. I'll bring him some hide and animal skin so he can practice creating leather.
Start: | I'll check near Mystic Waterfall for beaver dens. |
---|
Complete: | I've obtained some beaver hides. |
---|
Start: | Water snakes might have shed their skins in the farmer's fields. It'll be an easy job to collect them for Ping. |
---|
Complete: | I've obtained several snake skins. |
---|
I found some animal dens and harvested hides for Ping to use.Stage 2
In addition to leather, Ping Ventur thought perhaps variations on cloth could be useful in providing different wardrobe options for the villagers.
Start: | I remember passing some flax plants near Sighing Willow Pond. I'll gather some flax for Ping to use in making cloth. |
---|
Complete: | I've gathered some flax plants. |
---|
Start: | There was a cotton plant between the Far Seas buildings by the docks. I'll gather some of the bolls for Ping. |
---|
Complete: | I've gathered some cotton bolls for ping. |
---|
Start: | The Far Seas Trading Company has some bolts of fabric stacked up near the dock. They won't mind if I sample some -- much. |
---|
Complete: | I've acquired a small bolt of fabric. |
---|
I've obtained some fiber and cloth samples for Ping Ventur.Stage 3
With these samples in hand, Ping Ventur will be able to practice on a smaller scale before deciding whether cloth or armor is the way to go.
Start: | Ping is in the House of Ventur in the Village of Shin. |
---|
Complete: | I've spoken with Ping Ventur. |
---|
I gave Ping Ventur the samples. I brought a variety of raw materials to Ping Ventur, giving him an opportunity to test his design skills to their fullest. While he's still unsure what will be chosen by the elders as appropriate for life in the Village of Shin, he appreciated my assistance.
