Void Shard  

Void Shards are the golden eggs of The Shadow Odyssey. All missions reward them, some bosses drop them, and a special chest in each mission instance will give one to every member of the party.

In turn, these can be used by crafters to create special armor and jewelry, or to purchase the same from certain merchants.

The armor and jewelry comes in tiers, the lowest of which is better than some treasured gear, and the highest is better than or equivalent to VP Fabled.

In January 2009 the new HEIRLOOM flag was added to Void Shards, making them tradeable through your bank to other of your characters but not to other players. Also, the icon was changed to a blue bar from the shiny orb.
