I completed this quest today w/no troubles. The gloom snakes updated just fine. I only had 2 kill 4 gloom snakes total 4 the updates.

I have been killing gloom snakes for a while now with no update, not even a no quest items found. Is there something else that I can get the leather straps from or is it bugged?

Not fallen Weponsmiths.....Tormented Weponsmiths drop the endcaps.

Giant Wretches and Tainted Vermin no longer exist in Fallen Gate since the update.

Loc of the forge room is -18, -18.78, -319.
As stated by Montok, only fallen weaponsmith will get the update for endcap, the last part of the staff quest.

*CORRECTION* Endcap did NOT drop from Fallen Armorsmith, as I had stated earlier.

Does anyone know what you should do if you accidentally destroy or lose the 'Scorched Wooden Staff'? I can't find my trigger item anywhere, but I was wondering if I could get the item to drop again or if I have to restart the quest.
My friend has the quest as well. He's on the portion where he needs to find the endcaps and nothing seems to have worked so far. Any info on that would be appreciated as well. =)

When completed the staff is about the same as that a level 20 mage will be carrying as part of his training. Considering the difficulty of the quest, (I was in team of level 23-26 fighting all the way down to the smiths), the end result is disappointing. In fact, as it is casters that would use such an item it has next to no value as a replacement for the standard issue staff.

I am at the 3d part looking for endcaps, does anyone know what drops em? i havent even seen "No quest Item found" Ive been far down though not killing the once in the boss room

did the stones, and then was told to do leather straps....they fall off of the giant wretches. Gathered the four and it's now telling me to find the forge in Fallen Gate. Not sure where that is though

The last part of the quest is to kill two armorsmiths deep in the dungeon pretty close to the Arena and Gong.

The only monster ive found so far that drops them is the suspended watcher, but he drops one every time.

The first part is to collect 3 stones from the stone watchers deep down in FG. THe second part is to replace 4 leather straps. Presuamably these straps can be replaced by killing anything in FG sincce no is specified.
Not sure what the third part as I haven't finished part 2 yet; I'll keep you posted.

The suspened watchers drop the stones, then you need 4 pieces of leather i think rats drop those.

I got the stones for this to drop of watchers. And the leather straps for this off of giant wretches.

- Collect 3 stones from a suspended watcher.
- Next find 4 leather straps. These drop from a gloom snake.
- After this find the Forge in the Fallen Gate at -18, -18, -319 and kill two a tormented weaponsmith in this area.

I've found a wooden staff that looks like it has seen better days. The markings on its burnt and charred surface seem to hint at some purpose beyond a normal walking stick.
I have found three polished pieces of amber that look as if they would fit within some of the indentations along the staff.
I have found some replacement straps for the scorched staff.
I have found replacement end caps on the undead that reside within Hate's Forge in Fallen Gate.I have found all the pieces and reassembled the Scorched Wooden Staff. It seems to have only a measure of the power it once possessed but yet is still strong despite the appearance.
Stage 1
I need to find the missing rocks or gems that were once a part of the staff. They couldn't have gotten far so I should search for anything that fits within Fallen Gate where I found the staff.| Start: | I should find the stones that were once a part of the scorched wooden staff. |

The four carved ridges along the length seem to indicate that perhaps the staff had some leather grips.
