As the general election is near, what do you think will happen?

1. Vote percentages will be too close to call, requiring us to wait for mail in ballots.

2. Vote percentages will be wide enough a part where we can safely assume a winner while waiting for the final count.

At first, I was thinking #1, but with all of the record breaking turnouts and early voting, we might be at #2.

If Biden wins, likely #2, if Trump wins likely #1.

Biden has many paths to electoral success where Trump only has narrow paths that can get shut off or safely assumed to be shut off. For example, if Trump wins FL or NC, the night continues but if Biden wins FL or NC, you can call it done because there's no real model where Biden wins NC but doesn't also win the upper Midwest and probably Arizona as well. So a Trump win likely requires waiting a while to see if he's shut off but a Biden win could quickly become apparent.

Plus, some of the states Trump would need to win won't start counting their early/absentee ballots until polls close on Election Day. So we might not know if Trump wins Pennsylvania for a few days but we'll know whether or not it matters (because Biden secured 270) earlier than that.

It's pretty clear that trump is done. I just hope he goes away quietly (he won't).

I just want the news to go back to it's normal sensationalized fluff with no more headlines of trump, or any of his clan, ever again.

Here in my home state the battle for Sen. Collins seat is the one that can go either way. Gideon was NOT the best opponent to but up against her (imo), but she's raised a butt-load of money. If the seat can be bought Gideon can afford it.

People are concerned if he wins again. I'm more concerned of the lame duck session if he loses. Best case scenario, he just denies the outcome and try some losing legal battles. Worst case scenario, he accepts his loss and tries to burn everything down on his way out.

If trump wins our classic democracy style governing is gone - for good or bad.
If biden wins our classic way of democracy style of governing will be fought for - with good or bad outcomes.

Political ways and means aside, climate change denial and non-action will be this countries undoing. We simply can not remain a world leader without taking action on our energy infrastructure. Other country's will continue to progress with cleaner, healthier more sustainable energy sources and systems. They'll have success and they'll gain power. The US will continue to degrade as some old fogey president(s) and friends/donors keep trying to shore up and even promote the fossil fuel industry for short term $profit.

I've been basically sequestering myself until today. I kind of expected the election to have been over and the conspiracy theories to have begun, but it looks like I was only half right.

My olde CO said they are activated to play crossing guards during the Inauguration.

My response.

So impeachment twice! Bets on whether or not he will be convicted by the Senate?

I hope he is. McConnell, at one point, seemed to want to convict him so the GOP didn't have to deal with him anymore. But now seems to be backing down from that stance and going his usual obstructive way. I think the more time that passes the less likely he is to be convicted. Pence should have taken away his presidency when he had the chance.

In the typical political response, McConnel today blamed Trump for the mob. Time will only tell how this will turn out.

Maybe lighten up on the homophobia jokes as one of your new year's resolution.

It's "cute" that you keep trying, Palpi. For various definitions of cute.

Thanks, buddy.

Two days ago for first time ever I signed up for "e-trade". I'm nearly 50 years old and have always wanted to own at least a couple stocks. Be a big shot. And I have almost no idea what a stock is. But there seems to be an amazing thing last couple days where random commoners could make money.

So, well the site is still waiting for an authorization from my bank account. All $50. I live in poverty and even making $2 over the limit might boot me out of Section 8 or something. Or owning stocks at all. But **** it, grrr! ANARCHY! Or if not: Where's my $4 trillion stock-holder bailout?

My "e-trade" account is waiting on my $50 so I can't right now tell you which stocks I'm buying. Nice try, fat cat. Maybe I'll let you know on Monday or next Thursday after my big win. [here's a hint, and I'm serious: "a company almost all of you have enjoyed products by ofwhich thereof". And it's almost 100% likely no other investor even of those reddit scourge-people would identify this company. Or maybe they would, again I am very ignorant about stocks or such. And I've never even visited reddit, except for

https://www.reddit.com/r/battlebots/

No joke. That's the one reddit thing I am clued on, because of the robots. That fat pig this season of the "wyatchi" clan or whatever is a total ****. Put on a big cow-catcher, and proud of it. Also, that clan is made up entirely of enormously fat people. Maybe stop eating not only the corn but also every pig each every day, you fat bulbous bastards. If someone lit a match on your legs you'd go up like a candle.

Catch a tiger by the tail, well yeah, and let's skin the tiger alive and turn it into hats!!

p.s. my "hint" didn't mean for you to invest your monies. Please never ever pay attention to anything I say. It's a particular company that well, someone with $20 or so could feel like they're an owner. And even maybe due to nostalgia. And maybe a %0.0000001 chance it could take off despite no assets.

I might be short-selling my position here though. Terms I just now learned. **** you! Don't read this! It's mine!

p.s. "big win" was not factual at all, it was hopeful, aspirational. I promised nothing.
