Plus, eschewing the crafting system means you'll never be able to make a +43 Dexterity longbow out of Bloodstone for Sera and name it "Andraste's Flow" just 'cause you know she'd get a kick out of that. Sera that is. Probably not Andraste.

Must be a mouseover in the shop for the MnKB interface. It does not do that if you are using a gamepad, I just checked. Even the examine button is greyed out on recipes. I could probably google it and find out a way but it's not that important to me. Maybe after I get the "short list" perk this run I'll bother. I'm still in comfy t3 range and they give you the dragon t3 set schematics with digi delux.

And yes I know PC master race etc. I'm playing on PC my hands are just wrecked from to much MMO/Work typing and 360 pad does not make them hurt. Plus the combat works really smoothly with a controller.

And to Joph: ewww Smiley: lol

I'm actually romancing Sera this run. She is kind of a sweet broken winged bird when you get to know her. Well except for mashing that dude to pudding. There is a repeatable option where we just sit on the roof of Skyhold and BS about stupid stuff that is pretty spiffy.

#PCMasterRace

I was all "I like you" at Sera and she was all "No way, chickie, you'll all into Blackwall". So someone is too good for casual sex...

Something I realized today while thinking about this game at work... There's no abominations in this game!? I wonder if that's important.

It is. :(

The dragon schematics are nice if you don't mind them not having upgrade slots, but they are on the lower end of T3 from what I remember.

Short list is really nice, IF you have the money.

Doubtful - why would demons bother trying to possess a host if they could manifest physically in the form of their choosing?

Side note - pretty sure there aren't desire demons, either. Which I find odd, since Dorian specifically mentions one. I'm GUESSING it's because BioWare didn't want to make male and female desire demons.

Well A they seem to be limited to the proximity of the rifts and are very unstable. B The main character closing their access all over the place.

Also I am not 100% sure but don't demons gain more power when they possess people?

Yeah that's a good point.. Possibly. I think the demons behaved extremely weird in this game. Only one was shown as sentient aside the "nightmare," while the rest ran around like Ravage animals. I don't understand. You think they be reeking more havoc.

And how do we know demons can manifest in any appearance they want on this side? The only proof of that, that I am aware of, was disproven in that person personal quest.

I'm pretty close to the start still (not out of the hinterlands) & may have to restart...

You can make Nigel Thornberry as your PC!

Level 20. 120 power. 13 Influence. Chillen at "What Pride has Wrought". Hunting dragons. Making OP armor and weapons. Closing all the rifts. Finding the obscure stuff in zones. Good times.

Iddiggory I found the Envy demon. If you choose to approach the templar it appears.

Derp Envy=/= Desire. At least not in dragon age.

However it looks nothing like it does in previous games. Also the templar mission is 100% different from approaching the mages. Worth a second play through. You also get WAY less leads if you approach the templars becuase you don't get poofed into the future. I found the mages Dungeon crawl more satisfying though.. I really do hate the lack of proper dungeons in this game hahaha.

Finished my mage run last night. Just rolled a Qunari archer. Because reasons. (Kind of like a Galka mage) Giant mean looking, shoots a bow and is stealthy despite his stature.

I'll probably go tempest. I was not sure I had the stamina for round 3 without a break to play another game but so far it seems really fun.

*Already hit a 400 damage long shot at level one. BNS Fap incoming!

Today's things that are awesome include:

Stealth
Leaping Shot
Full Draw
Hidden Blades
Long Shot
Flask of Bees

I saw a video of a guy soloing nightmare with a Archer/Assassin and decided well that looks pretty spiffy. So I went assassin. Loving it so far. I'm not on nightmare or soloing but it's a pretty good combo from what I can tell. I was tempted by Tempest but thought it would be tough to slot all of those flasks and still have the other abilities I enjoy.

So I am mostly archer strong and picking up passives, stealth, and poison.

Not sure if anyone else is still playing but the game has actually grown on me over time. I only played DA 2 once. DA:O I played many times naturally. I might play DA 2 again though because seeing Hawke makes me nostalgic. As flawed as DA 2 was Hawke was still pretty cool really.

I'm of town so I haven't finished my dagger rogue run yet but I intend to. Then a break to play something else for a while before next time (some flavor of mage).

How are you liking dagger rogue? I was really tempted to go that route and I still might someday but I am an archer IRL so I thought I should honor the bow first.

So far so good. Can kill soft targets like archers and mages with a single hit and do significant damage to harder targets easily as well. Was surprised how much quicker the Hinterlands dragon went down although part of that might just be knowing how to play the game better and having better crafting knowledge. Still, with Blackwall set up on tank duty, we chewed through it with only a single 'death' (Sera who I think decided to stand in the fire). I haven't even gotten my specialization yet -- going to go Assassin -- but I'm expecting good things.

Just did Iron Bull's personal quest for the first time. I kind of bond with a different group and keep them as my party the entire game each run. Iron Bull is set to protect me and is kind of my personal wrecking ball body guard. Smiley: smile

Also Chargers all the way. My Qunari is Tal Vashoth and no way I am letting the chargers (and Krem who is super cool) die for a dreadnought full of randoms. ***** the Qun anyway.

And the award for most underwhelming ending goes to...!

Here's a question - did anyone else feel like using the mark to send Corypheus into the fade to kill him was a really bad idea? Yeah, you hope he's dead - that his body is mutilated and broken. But, like, maybe he isn't. Wouldn't a sword in his neck have been a much, much better idea?

I guessed the Solas spoiler earlier in the game, actually. Well, not that spoiler specifically, but that category of spoiler. I've also been sitting on a Flemeth is either an Old God or an Elven God hunch for a while now.

I was really underwhelmed by the game in general, but I did like how much Elven lore we got. And is it just me, or did every companion need another quest? And, excepting maybe Cassandra, way more conversation scenes? Or maybe I just failed to unlock a lot of content, but it seemed SUPER sparse. Like, Iron Bull pretty much never talked to me. I romanced Dorian, and that only seemed to earn me a few additional scenes.

Or maybe it's the same as the other games, but the fact that the companions talk way less makes it feel like it?

I dunno, I feel like they axed depth of content to add more characters, and that's pretty much the exact opposite of what I would have wanted. Would have much preferred 6 characters that really get fleshed out.

Yes.

It's pretty much right at the same level of undwerhelming. Part of me actually wants to say it's worse, because ME3's final scene was really poor, but the actual scenes of the final mission were actually great. DAI's final mission scenes are so-so, and then we have a really poor ending that's just drawn out to make it worse and worse.

The scene is abrupt, and the moment of victory is completely squandered.

You beat Corypheus and some boulders fall to show the islands are returning to ground (but then you don't see that, which is strike 1). Then you have a scene with Solas, which isn't particularly stimulating, though could be worse (but on the other hand, clearly exists solely to set up future events, so strike 2). And then you get your whole crew greeting you. THIS should be the moment of climax. You won! Everyone is around you! Give a victory cheer or speech!

Nope. Instead it's a tentative "Is it over...?" and you respond with "Let's go back to Skyhold." That is completely wasting the moment of climax. You beat the big bad, and it's just a series of tentative low notes. Not a single second of trying to capitalize on the excitement of WINNING. I mean, what the hell? Even the final Lord of the Rings movie managed to slot a poignant scene early in its never-ending series of epilogues.

Then you have a nice long load screen, which just makes things worse.

And the scene at Skyhold isn't even particularly jubilant. The scene when you get made Inquisitor, which it is clearly being paired to, is WAY stronger.

I mean, compare the scene after Haven to the ending? The climax of Act 1 shouldn't be higher than the Climax to Act 3. But Haven is so, so much better.

Even though it still would have been weak writing, a full parallel with Skyhold getting destroyed and your big army being mobilized for rescue and repair would have been so much more poignant. Haven was destroyed and you had to abandon it, but now you're strong enough to just rebuild sort of thing.

As I said above I did not get Iron Bulls personal quest line until my 3rd play through. It seems like their might be a prereq of having them active in the party for long enough before you get the quest chain but I'm really not sure.

I do think it has added to the replayability to still get new content after the first run.

As for the ending, I'm usually ready for the game to be over at that point so I kind of liked that it was a brief boss fight.

I've got the fade and the prom up next in my rogue run and I'm not sure I can get through them again. I don't like being stuck in long missions. My favorite parts of the game are just cruising around, fighting, and leveling up.
