This quest is given by Field Investigator Chel Morgan at the Bone Lake -779, 0, -1914 . Chel Morgan will ask you to try and solve a murder that recently took place and is willing to pay you for your assistance.
- Investigate the Headstone Walkway
- Its located at -851, 0, -1350 in nek forest. Simply walk across the bridge. Once you are done return to Chel Morgan.
- Investigate the Nek docks
- Travel to the docks in Nektulos Forest and then return to Chel Morgan.
- Search Black Lake for the missing dagger
- The dagger can be found in the lake located at -492.28, -1.21, -909.6 . You'll have to go in the water to see the dagger. Return to Chel Morgan.

You have to right click on it and select pick up dagger. Hope that helps! :)

Just did this with another toon of mine. You must right-click the dagger, then choose "Pick up dagger". If you simply double-left-click, it will perform the examine function and yes, you can only "leave it alone" when you examine it.

I have had the same problem. I foundt the dagger, then examined only to be told that I had to leave it alone. Anybody know what to do?

For some reason i CANNOT harvest the dagger.

And for those of us who don't have a map with coordinates handy: the dagger in step 3 is in the small nook of water at the southern edge of Black Water Lake.

This one was a b**ch to find. I'd like to recommend that when you are at the locs, don't go into the water itself but walk on dry land at the edge of it.
A good idea is to go into walk mode, into 1st person view and bury your nose to the ground. Its right at the edge in the water and for me it didn't glimmer. I am sure I walked passed it a few times before I finally saw the darn thing.
Oh and expect to have your soul stolen a few times as well :D

Got the quest to find a dagger near a bridge called Headstone, which is not far down the fast flowing river going south from Bone Lake. Soon as I got to the bridge, a report across my screen said " Nothing suspicious found here. Report back to Chat Morgan". He then sent me to the port docks. using the griffin towers, I got to the port. Again report across my screen "Not found here. Report back to Chat Morgan. He then told me to go to Black lake and look for dagger.I found it at Loc. -492.26 , -910.19. Told to report back to Chat Morgan. The reward for me was a 12 slot investigator's chest. That's it. Fright's post is incorrect. What is listed above is still correct. The dagger is at -492, -909. Just be sure to look real closely as it's in the water right at the edge of the lake.

Ralphius is right, it is pretty much right at the edge and almost in... I probably wouldn't have noticed it personally if I didn't have reflections on for water... it shimmered a little. Also, for those who use something like the eq2map mod, it is in that as a POI, one of the locations I think.

I had some problems even with the coordinates given. But I think it's a game problem with /loc. However they are close enough. The dagger is at the very edge of the water. Do NOT swim. Go to the loc given and then carefully walk along the very edge of the water. The dagger is clearly visible if you are looking down. I'm talking about mere inches from the edge of the water.

All I can say is thank you for this info... this was the smallest thing to find imaginable. It is almost hillarious to try to find this thing in that big of a lake.

The dagger is right along the shore and just barely in the water. So don't bother swimming all over looking for it. Coords -492, -910 are where it's at, which is at the southern tip of the lake.

cannot find this damn dagger anywhere at the lake. ive swam all around, looked down on myself from 3rd person while scouring the banks.....dunno...very irritating

This has been nerfed.
Did it a few weeks ago and got a 20 slot box that could go in the shared slot in bank. Did it again last night with an alt and got a 12 slot box that is no-trade. Hardly worth avoiding the aggro to only get a 12 slot box.

the dagger is just at the waters edge....in fact as the wave wash back and forth on the shore...the hilt comes out of the water...if ya run around the lake with your view in 3rd person and looking down ontop of yerself and youl see it

The Exact Location for the dagger is -492.28,-1.21,-909.60 Put your heading to NE at 61.02 Degrees it is on ground at edge of water in the water at the very edge of the bank....

If you angle the view so you are looking down from above it is easier to see. Would have never found it without exact locations posted here.

I went to the loc, stood in the water and out. Walked all around but cannot see the dagger anywhere. Anyone know if the loc has changed? Quest still says Black lake, i have swam zig-zag patterns all across water and still no dagger.

The 20 slot container is large capacity, however it weighs 100 pounds.
